I went fabric shopping with a pregnant friend yesterday who failed to eat enough during the day. She ate, but apparently just not enough, and the activity of going around Joann's made her queasy and faint. As she sat there, eating her emergency supply of crackers, she went, "You know, if I didn't want this lump of Play-Doh, I'd swear to god it was trying to kill me."

Why don't you bitches just stay in the kitchen and out of the way?

Uh uh uh...

We have to be gentlemanly about this.  Like so:

"Why can't you little ladies stay in the kitchens that we have provided for you?  It's a lot less stressful than dealing with that big, complicated world out there.  Also, make sure the roast isn't burned tonight, okay?"

That's not very lady-like, Suu.

Oh, sorry. I'll try again.

*ahem*

My dear good gentleman, it would do you justice to prepare your own meal this evening.

16-12-140.
14 (a) The State of Georgia has the duty to protect all innocent life from the moment of
15 conception until natural death. We know that life begins at conception. After nearly four
16 decades of legal human prenatal murder, it is now abundantly clear that the practice has
17 negatively impacted the people of this state in many ways, including economic, health,
18 physical, psychological, emotional, and medical well-being. These, too, are areas of
19 legitimate concern and duty of this state. The General Assembly therefore makes the
20 following findings of fact:
21 (1) A fetus is a person for all purposes under the laws of this state from the moment of
22 conception;

23 (2) The Georgia Constitution, at Article I, Section I, Paragraph II, provides: 'Protection
24 to person and property is the paramount duty of government and shall be impartial and
25 complete. No person shall be denied the equal protection of the laws.' Because a fetus
26 is a person, constitutional protection attaches at the moment of conception.
It is therefore
27 the duty of the General Assembly to protect the innocent life that is being taken;

Well, they are attempting to redefine when life begins. IMO the SD bill was attempting the same thing.

Part of me is really happy I live in a state where this shit isn't going to fly.

I think the key to wrapping your head around the pro-life argument is to put yourself in the following alternate universe:

In this hypothetical universe it is not considered murder unless the person is at least five years old. If you, as a parent, decide that you don't want to raise your kid, you can have him/her put to sleep at any time before his/her fifth birthday. Nobody considers amoral or a crime because "It's not a person yet."

Now pretend that you belong to this group of radicals that are like, "Don't you think this is a little crazy? A four year old is a person. This is murder!"

and the rest of culture answers, "No -- it's not a person until their fifth birthday."

They're already starting to crack down on "preventative" care.

It's pandering, and nothing more.  SCOTUS has already ruled on this, so amendment IX and article VI make the law worthless.  It'll cost the state a bundle in court, and lose.

Arizona is doing the same thing with other issues.  It's nothing more than Bobby Franklin establishing his "conservative credentials" at the cost of a few dozen millions of tax dollars, in a state already strapped by debt.

New numbers out showed that Georgia's unemployment rate grew to 10.2 percent in December. The state is out of money to pay out unemployment claims and is accruing debt to the federal government of more than $600 million.
