I have chosen 2 colours from this range, http://www.celticove.com/acatalog/Tweed-Aran.html although I'm not telling what they are, as it's supposed to be a surprise. Luckily i also have another scarf on the go for our friend Jerry, an American self-exile in Edinburgh (OMG OMG OMG alpaca blend yarn is fucking DECADENT AS FUCK! sooo soft and kind of springy. I want £100 so I can make a blanket or throw or something from a similar blend.) so I can switch between projects for when Payne is home, and when Payne is not.

Alas current blanket project is 25% or so done, but festive seasons have put the fucker on hold. I was kind of summer weight anyway, so hey ho.

Rowan yarn is so nice. I don't own any but it's on my list of yarns I'd like to play with.  Your projects sound very cool. Keep us updated on your progress. :)

This thread makes me want to pick crocheting up again. I believe I have a hook or two somewhere around here...

It is. I usually only do it on public transport because I need something to do with my hands, but I'm thinking about picking it up again and learning more than two stitches.

I'm working on a set of dishcloths for my roommate, who likes those sorts of things. I picked three patterns, without reading them, that I thought looked really different and offered up different textures. Turns out they all use the same two stitches - single crochet and double crochet - the only change is which hole you're putting the stitches in.

Finished the dishcloths. Didn't think to take a picture of them all separately until I had them tied up. Whoops. Now I'm working on a crocodile stitch shawl.

Isn't that always the way?

It is. It's amazing how things change with just one altered detail.

Finished a hat and also found the crop tool. Whee! I'm so asleep right now.

This hat is not fooling around. It means business. It doubles as a bucket, a stock pot, a bludgeoning device, a helmet, and a dragon egg cozy.

That bat wing shawl a couple pages back is win! I should try to make a shawl. I just have this massive scarf I need to finish.
