i am doing the stripes the long way. (the 60") and have managed 4 inches. The god of crochet faff has been appeased by 2 dishcloths, both with nice little loops on so they han be hung up to aid hygiene.

Today I found out I've been doing single crochet differently that the text book description, since forever. No wonder my work has so much panache. >.> Was teaching the roommate. I taught her the text book way since I don't want her head to explode in ten years when she realizes everyone else is doing it differently.

ok, I call that a DC, i hook in, pull yarn though so thar be 2 loops on the hook, yarn over and pull through both.

How do you do it?

Yeah, that's our single crochet. I insert my hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through one loop, yarn over and pull through two loops. Always done my single crochet that way.

Not sure if she does Swedish/American translation. All I want are the little skull parts, sewn onto a beanie, then my life will be complete!
