I started watching a documentary about nerdcore hip hop the other day.

Anyone else familiar or into it?  Suggestions on artists to listen to?

I suggest Tupac Shakur's All Eyez On Me.

That should cure you of wanting to listen to a bunch of nerdy honkies try to rap.

Quote
When an artist adapts a form of media into another form, they have one chief responsibility - to use that new form in a way that portrays the subject matter in a different, but still appropriate, light. Someone who instead simply aligns himself with something already profitable for attention without anything new to add to the mix is called a hack. Or a Star Wars novelist.

Glittersnatch would be a rather unfortunate condition, if a halfway decent troll name.

I'm a big fan of nerdcore.

The big names are MC Chris and MC Front A Lot,  bot talented artists.  one of my personal favorite groups is Emergency Pizza Party  (gotta love a group that does a nerdcore rap opera about the zombie apocalypse)  MC++ and MC Lars are both pretty good, and Zealous1 and YTcracker have some pretty good stuff.

Is Lonely Island "nerdcore"? I am not sure I understand this term.

How about the Beastie Boys?
“I’m guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk,” Charles Wick said. “It was very complicated.”

Nerdcore usually includes more geeky/nerdy references than either of those groups.  Lots of rapping about star wars, video games, zombies, and so forth.

It's basically the definition of Asperges. I demand that every form I engage with has immediate relevance to my die cast figurines. It's like a grown ass man insisting on Flintstones vitamins or something.

You see me I like songs that are just nice noises, or else about fucking or war or the brushing of teeth with a bottle of Jack.
