"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

LMNO

Yeah.  I get most of my Science from him.

I get most of my SCIENCE! from TGRR, though.

:mittens:  Your dad is very cool, LMNO. (I know you knew that already! ;) )

Also, his point about spending in the sciences is unfortunately so on target.  And very frustrating since those in the GOP that seem to eschew anything regarding really for real science as it is.  They've reduced scientists to pedantic Ivory Tower dwellers, rather than the harbingers of economic doom they actually are.  When we have to IMPORT the number of scientists and engineers and mathematicians we do to fulfill our sectors' needs, never mind giving up on R&D in our own rights...it's not a pretty picture.

But, the right-wingers don't give a shit.  Because Jebus died on a cross.

He's been around.

I figured. The name looked familiar to me, aside from obviously having the same last name as you.

"former science adviser to George W. Bush"

Would've loved to be a fly on the wall for those conversations.

LMNO, Sr.:  "So George, about Global Warming......"

GWB:  (sticking his fingers in his ears)  "Bla, bla, blah, can't hear you!  Can't hear you!"

Cynicism is a blank check for failure.

LMNO

Should be no surprise that they rarely talked.
