Also, yes it's fucked up.  I already seen it in the Unlimted AZ hilarity thread.  Vex posted.

ETA:  The fact that this didn't happen in Phoenix gives me a weird feeling.  However, if he did have a gun, the swat team are likely to shoot first and ask questions later. 

The article I read also says that it was a major drug bust on that block, or something similar.  I don't doubt his wife, but it could have been a horrible, awful mistake.

I'm going to back to sleep now.  Is too :(

Yeah, I do hit other sources, but that one was linked directly from the first article.

Reason.com, while 95% useless, does reporting on the drug war and abuse of SWAT teams very well.  In fact, if they junked everything else and just had Balko report on those two things, I might even stop trolling the comments there.

Attorney Michael Storie said authorities found rifles, handguns, body armor and a portion of a law-enforcement uniform inside the house where Jose Guerena was shot by officers serving a search warrant May 5.
