I'm going to take a break and KMFMS for awhile until I can post without being a complete fucking prick.  I may be using this place as an outlet for misdirected anger that is, while a bit cathartic at the time, completely unfair to everyone else here and certainly won't win me any friends.

-Pickle, going back to being a ghost.  And maybe posting good music.

Pickle,  you come across as a bully here.

Requia and I are relatively unpopular, so you unleash on both of us with full vitriol, swearing at us, calling us stupid, etc etc.

Roger, who is both popular and likely to retaliate several times over says similar things and you back down.

I didn't really have a problem with you before but this really bothers me.

Other people give me shit because they have a problem with what I am saying or because they don't like me personally.  You are doing it because I am an easy target and that's some bullshit.  If it was actually a problem with what I was saying you'd have launched into Roger the same way.

I backed down this morning when I read this with a sober, if somewhat hungover mind.  Believe me, if Roger had been chiming in last night I'd have cussed and spit at him too.  Hell, I butt heads with him more than anyone else here.  But he's usually got his facts correct, even if we just disagree.  Your facts were incorrect and I should have linked or something.  Anything other than the way I replied.  I disagreed with the substance of what Requia said and should have replied differently as well.

My apologies.  I know I do that a lot here lately and that's not what I want to continue to do.

I'm normally a quite happy drunk, even if I start out in a bad mood.  I wasn't last night, but yeah, it certainly can change things much more quickly.

Well, DP, you DO get shat on a lot, so that's to be expected.

And the reason you get shat on a lot is that you have the wrong values.  Not being facetious, here.  You have chosen a party/organization to represent your viewpoint.  Doesn't matter if it's the teabaggers at Reason, the objectivist foundation, the Smelly Hippie Save the Spotted Slug Party, or the hapless bag of fuckwits we like to call "the democratic party".

In all of the above cases, you're signing up for a religion.  You are required to swallow - intact - every turd they offer, and reality be damned.  Reason reads like a fucking parody site, and anyone who believes a word they print is just begging for The Stark Fist of Rebuttal.

That doesn't make you popular at parties, I hear, nor with cultists.

On the other hand, I view the Ron/Rand Paul cultists as basically being unable to think, so I just tend to avoid them at parties, anyway (they never answer questions, they just recite their party ideology when questioned.  No fun at all.).

Fuck no.  We'd be coopted by the religious nuts in DAYS.  Go look at the Constitution Party's website, to see what I mean.

How about the "Hoodlums for Hire" party?

Or "We're just here for the free drinks" party, or the "Laughing All The Way Down" party?

Na, you didn't offend me.  You've said it before, just in a different way.  I understand what you're saying.  Deprogramming this many years of doing what I'm doing takes diligence.  It helps to have it pointed out and rub my nose in it.

Didn't mean for BH and Requia to be on the receiving end of an angry shit-throwing spree is all.  I just wanted to be angry about something and if it wasn't that it would have been something else, some other website, some other people.
