So..  Man, that Patriot Act.  That's some Act, hu?   :)

Sorry, dude.  Requia has to SHOW ME.

If ya want, I'll split the thread when the mess is over.

Are you going to split every thread Requia decides to show us all how much smarter than the rest of us it is?

That's done by the request of the thread OP.

I smell an Unlimited thread in the near future.  :lulz:

Not by me.  I'm involved.

I'd just like to say I have a fuckton of respect for you, solely based on this issue.

Yeah...I just bet he sleeps better tonight knowing that.

I very much doubt he gives a shit, I just felt it should be said.

meh, it's clear the whole "even a clock is right twice a day" vibe I expected this to turn into, isn't.  I thought it was fairly significant that the only guy fighting to even discuss that abomination of a misnamed law also happens to be a Republican.  It is refreshing to hear one put his money where his mouth is on the freedom issue, even if he was standing alone. (well, with a few other Repubs and Dems)

You guys have at it.  In the spirit of trying to not take myself so srsly, I'm going to go make some WOMPables of my mug.

MEh, about two months ago I stopped hearing words from politicians. Just animal sounds. It makes sense, really.

Ok so, I hate to drag an old argument into a new thread, but I can't find the last thread that this one was dragged into.

On the temporary banning of Roger in IRC:

While I still believe you were spamming, and both deserved and needed to be banned, I should never have taken it upon myself to make that decision because I was involved, and being involved I can't trust my judgment on the matter.

So, I apologize for it.

Only because you play with them.  It's like a scab, if you keep picking at it, it'll never go away.

Nah, it'll just leave a gnarly scar.  Check some of these out!

I'm thinking an unlimited Requia pedantry thread is just about due, considering the way the back and forth tends to derail thread after thread.

Well, the Repub in question was a Paul, and apparently Rand has more of his dad in him than I had thought.

Not really all that shocking when you look at it with a bit more complexity than just Left vs Right.

I fear that I may have offended DP.

I don't know why, you only spoke the truth.

That doesn't make you popular at parties, I hear, nor with cultists.

On the other hand, I view the Ron/Rand Paul cultists as basically being unable to think, so I just tend to avoid them at parties, anyway (they never answer questions, they just recite their party ideology when questioned.  No fun at all.).

We should start the Constitution Emeritus Party.

Fuck no.  We'd be coopted by the religious nuts in DAYS.  Go look at the Constitution Party's website, to see what I mean.

How about the "Hoodlums for Hire" party?

Or "We're just here for the free drinks" party, or the "Laughing All The Way Down" party?

"Nigel for Empress" party?

ARE YOU MAD?

She doesn't NEED a party.  She'll just fold up the universe when she's good and ready.
