He's an evangelical Christian who believes the Left Behind series is instructively shitty, and that Hell has no real biblical basis.

This article in particular struck me as a good example of a less-wrong approach to Christianity.

The idea of viewing people as guys like you with their own stories to tell (that are actually interesting) and not just targets to sell your shit to is a good one. Too bad it's not really popular out there.

Fred Clark's a decent guy, in my book.

His "slacktavist" blog often takes apart the theologically and ethically dubious arguments of the Religious Right and, as an evangelical himself, he is obviously quite well versed in both the Bible itself but, somewhat unusually, the philosophical thinking behind many Christian traditions as well and where they differ/agree.

I don't want to leave off here only saying that L&J have provided a manual on How Not To Do Evangelism. They certainly have provided that — offering a template for evangelism that seems designed to inspire ill-feeling on all sides and to be as ineffectual as it is unpleasant.
