I am going to be completely honest and say that this bothers me and is making me consider if perhaps it isn't time for me to move on, something I've actually been contemplating a lot lately and would do if it weren't for wanting to keep in contact with certain individuals.

All I did was rephrase the BIP/TFYSS.   

If my writing is driving people away, then maybe I need to back off a bit.

I figured I was doing a public service thingie, here, pointing out in advance two common pitfalls that hit 80% or so of all new folks.  It would be really fucking nice to avoid the usual 2 weeks of horseshit before being able to converse with new people with something resembling a common language.

Apparently, that's not how it came across.  RWHN is one of my favorite people here, so if this shit is getting in his ass enough to make him leave, I'm going to back off and re-examine my writing style.

As much as I dislike having to be all nice and shit, don't leave man.  I still think you are stubborn on the MJ issue, but you have good reason for that, and you see a lot more minors that smoke than I do.  And fuck the MJ issue, that's just discussion.  Many of us believe strongly about it, so we all get a little butthurt over it, but as the Doktor says, that's just the primate speaking.

Coming on the heels of some certain conversations and exchanges in the MJ thread, particularly between myself and the individual named by name in this piece, it comes as a bit of a slap.  Unintentional, I'm sure.  But it is still rather jarring for me.  

Oh, wait.  Missed this.

So the position is now if *I* mention Nigel in a thread, you'll flounce because you had an argument with Nigel?  So, what, we're all supposed to shun her now, or you might fucking pick up your ball and go home?

I believe the way she has conducted herself in that thread, towards me, is antithetical to the substance of this stickied piece.  She lazily and grossly misrepresented my posting history in that thread, completely and unsubstantially categorizing everything I posted in that thread as "religion" and "irrelevant". 

All I'm saying is that if she is going to be held up like that, in a stickied thread, it sends a certain signal to me, unintentional or not.  If that kind of behavior is going to be championed, it tells me that this place is no longer the place for me. 

If that causes you to lose respect for me, so be it.  But I will stand on my principles whether it is popular or not.

So, yeah, me carrying on the "Dark Empress Nigel" joke in a totally unrelated thread means you have to flounce or some shit.  Take the fucking "signal" and stuff it in your tinfoil hat.  Up yours, RWHN...Demanding that people shun someone because you've got a case of butthurt isn't "principles".
