That line from the father's song in Mary Poppins, where he's going on about how nothing can go wrong, in Britain in 1910.  That's about the point I realized the boy was gonna die in a trench.

OK, I unbanned Yatto. Hopefully he won't make me regret it.

Why?  He was banned for stealing content, long before the alleged pron-bombing.

Because he appears to be genuinely sorry about it and to understand why it was wrong. I'd like to think we're the type of people who are willing to give long-standing members a 2nd chance in that sort of situation.

And because I would have had this conversation much sooner if the apparently non-existent porn bombing thing hadn't colored my perceptions.

At no point that I have seen has he apologized, or even retracted his stated intent to steal content from Cain & I.  In fact, his "Say I'm sorry Yatto" thread seems to be a definite statement that he isn't sorry one bit, when read in its entirety.

I suppose I'd be alright with this, if he makes an unqualified statement that he won't be taking peoples' content without their permission.  I don't care if he apologizes, because I don't believe he is capable of being sorry.  I just want an assurance that he won't be swiping shit with some lame excuse as to why it's okay.

Well, he has his chance now. He expressed penitence and a desire to apologize, and he damn well better do it IMO.

He did, as previously mentioned, apparently say these things:

Quote from: Nigel on September 03, 2011, 06:51:54 PM
Quote from: Cain on September 03, 2011, 06:33:39 PMAs for Yatto, he contacted me on Facebook to apologize about the whole "copyright" thing.  At least, I think it was him.  It was with the "Brian Fnord" username.  If he was being sincere, it suggests may this Mah Fnord person is not him.  Or he is being insincere.  Or something else entirely is going on.

Yeah, he told me that he realized that even if he had a legal right to use Dok's materials against his wishes, it would still be immoral because it went against the spirit that Intermittens was conceived in, but that he was already banned by the time he came back to apologize.

Well, I'm not the one he needs to apologize to, so it's not my call. But I feel like joking and pussyfooting doesn't show a lot of sincerity, and certainly not anywhere near the amount of credibility of "I was wrong, and I have no intention of ever using anyone's materials without permission".

I agree.

I also feel like if he's able to pony up a sincere apology and reassurance that he's not going to steal anyone's work, he's more likely to receive an apology for being accused of porn spamming.

the last yatto

Still don't see how it was half assed, tho I agree with roger. Looking back it is a lame excuse
Look, asshole:  Your 'incomprehensible' act, your word-salad, your pinealism...It BORES ME.  I've been incomprehensible for so long, I TEACH IT TO MBA CANDIDATES.  So if you simply MUST talk about your pineal gland or happy children dancing in the wildflowers, go talk to Roger, because he digs that kind of shit

Where was the explanation of how that all happened and that yatto didn't do that with his Mah Fnord facebook account?  Because I seem to have missed that somewhere in all the other......

East Coast Hustle

Basically, there's no proof that it happened at all, just Liam's word. And since he and Bella apparently immediately cut Roger and Charlie out of their circle of friends afterward, there's nobody who is willing or able to pick their brains to get the details of the alleged spamming.

It's kind of boring and pointless, but if you read the last few pages of this thread there are several good points raised about this particular issue.

I still talk to them sometimes. They've already made it clear that they don't want to talk about it anymore.

I believe it happened. There's no solid proof that Yatto did it and it's possible it could have been CU or someone like that. Can't prove Yatto DIDN'T do it, but you can't prove a negative anyway. So Yatto gets a reprieve.

Hold the fucking phone, then who was sending shit from the Mah Fnord account?

From what I have gleaned here, there is no proof that anyone did it. Of course they don't want to talk about it anymore.

It turns out that Liam got some porn spam (not on Facebook) and thought Roger did it. It was never actually connected to Yatto in any way whatsoever.

Apparently, nobody, since no one has stepped forward to say they got anything. All of the info is in this thread, I'm not sure it really needs to be rehashed.
