Oh, and Enabler and I - and possibly TGG - WILL be making it to England before the end of 2012.

yay!

Triple Zero

If anybody from far away makes it to Amsterdam, I'll make a point of being there, of course.

I will also take you to Utrecht, if possible (it's close, prettier, less touristic and I know it better)

Keep us informed. I will also *try* to make that.

Oh man, I'd love to make another trip to England. Last time was before I got assimilated into PD.communism.

If I don't make it, I recommend the city of York for walking about like a tourist, if you can make it. When you are looking for good accommodations in London, St. Margaret's Hotel is the place I stayed, and it was great.

Of course, anything that the local PDers recommend takes priority.

Placid Dingo

Maybe. Only for the first week of April though, and pending the feelings of DingoGF. But if it's on, probably.

June July holidays are two weeks though. Better.

Squidday!  Woman, I need to make a trip to see the family down there.  And maybe then I could meet Zalgo Lt. Squidday face to face!  I have been prepared by this by my living in Tucson, which apparently makes things less brain-warpy than if you live in other places.

I will have graduation clout by early April, but probably not March.

Definitely interested....I'll have to see how actual job #1 and theoretical job #2 pan out.

QuoteThe Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA) invites proposals for papers and artistic contributions around the topic "Extremely Close and Incredibly Slow" for its annual international workshop and conference.

:lulz:

I can't make it, but if your school or work chips in for conference funding / professional development, the deadline for your 300 word proposal and bio is in 3 days.  Conference is March 28th.

Cool idea, cram.

(they're also looking for "Extremely Close and Incredibly Slow" 'performances'...)
It feels unreal because it's trickling up.

Huuuh.

Thanks for this, Hoser. It got the old brain turning. I might actually submit something for this - you never know, you might get lucky. It took me 15 minutes to hash together a proposal on the subject that has been bubbling in the back of my mind for a bit (on the nature of online communities). It needs to be in by the 1st... so I'll have a reread of it after work and probably throw it at the email tonight.
I had an existential crisis and all I got was this stupid gender.

Cool idea. There are some people here I'm not terrified of meeting. If I'm not as poor as I expect to be and if I'm not at a conference in Puerto Rico in late March* while this goes down I could probably pop over. Early April would somewhat increase the chances of me coming.

*which depends on them giving me a scholarship.
Unless stated otherwise, feel free to copy or reproduce any text I post anywhere and any way you like. I will never throw a hissy-fit over it, promise.
