The werewolf thing is a bit suggestive of that.

It's also not too dissimilar to the Morrowind plot, where the Sixth House was seeking to drive all the foreigners out and using the xenophobic, slave-owning Cammona Tong as one of their tools to achieve this (though, interesting, not House Telvanni, to my knowledge).  Except the bit where Hitler is a god, sealed up in a mountain by Churchill, Stalin and Roosevelt, who are also gods, but secretly betrayed de Gaulle and had him killed (maybe) and his reincarnation is going to finish the job.

I was looking forward to Skyrim, until I took an arrow in the knee.

Lately, my apartment has been discussing a problem that's been nagging at us.

Skyrim is awesome. It's been out for a little over 20 days. Everybody in my apartment is playing it, except for the girl who has final exams coming up.

And it's remained constantly good. I'm at level 37 and I'm not running out of content. I think I've hit the point where the game's easy, but then I get annihilated by some creature I've never seen before. You think "ah I'll never have to worry about gold again", and then spend it all in one shopping trip. I keep finding fascinating locations, quests, and NPCs. In short, the game hasn't stopped being awesome.

So here's the problem:

what if it never stops being awesome?

what if we never get bored with it?

I'm remembering the people who have died while playing WoW or Starcraft or Halo 2. We could die this way!

Or on a less life threatening level: what if we never need to buy other video games now? The whole video game industry is in danger.

This is Skyrim's potentially biggest flaw: It's too good.

I used to think I'd never stop playing Skyrim, until I took an arrow to the knee.

Since the playstation update it crashes every 20 minutes for me so I've barely played it.  8)

Speaking of Playstation, has anyone been playing on X-Box? I know Morrowind works fine on there until it inevitably slows, skips then freezes. Then maybe unfreezes, but probably not. Seeing as Skyrim seems like it has so much more going on, how is it? I've come to terms with the fact that Morrowind will probably freeze at some point so saving is a good idea, but just curious.

I'm playing on X-Box, got occasional freezes which require a cold start. But overall, not bad. MILES less buggy than New Vegas.

Before the update, after an hour or so of play it would drop so many frames it was unplayable and I'd have to boot it.  Since the update it now takes several hours before it starts bogging down.

Lvl 53 so far.  Went ahead and finished the main quest, all daedric quests.  Still have to bring up the thieves guild and haven't done any temple quests.

All shouts discovered but still 7 to fully upgrade.  The last one you get is just ridiculous and I'm glad I saved the civil war quests for last because it's really useful in them.

The blades aren't on speaking terms with me for spoiler reasons I won't go into, but fuck em.

Still a LOT of places I haven't discovered out in the mountains.  It never ends.

Even at lvl 53, Ancient Dragons can mop the floor with me if I'm not careful.

Oh, and dragon armor looks stupid as hell.

not only that - it's not as good as Daedric armor! why is it harder to learn to craft?

Cool. I can deal with the occasional freeze - if anything, gives me an excuse to tear myself away from the TV and find something else to do.  Good to know about New Vegas too. I'd been debating getting that too, even though I don't know where I think all this imaginary time to play video games is going to come from.
