I'm trying to visualize a textbook article written 50 years from now, about the years 2010-2012.

And I'm hoping it says "During this period, America went through another phase of McCarthyism, but eventually snapped out of it."

but you know it, it's going to say "2010-2012 was a relatively sane period of history."

They're not going to have textbooks in 50 years, Cram.  Look at the LAST 50 years.

They don't WANT people to learn, much less to think.

Here's an irony - this law is more dicatatorial and authoritarian than a law currently being proposed in China, which would allow the state to detain someone without charge for six months in cases of National Security type concerns.

America is being more totalitarian than China.  Just let that sink in.
