This one, obvious bit of trollbait, has basically consumed every UK media outlet and blog for this week.  Epic flamewars have been fought over what is a transparent ploy for the Mail to get more clicks and links to justify its extravagant online advertising fees.

Mesozoic Mister Nigel

"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

Sadly, very easily, especially among the UK's typically non-net savvy and humourless left

Longtime blog friend Steven Baxter sums up the entire thing rather well http://enemiesofreason.co.uk/2012/04/04/brickgate/

I had a comment and then I clicked the second link and lost it.

As an american, I read that Steven Baxter article and heard Eddie Izzard's voice in my head. Sorry.

Oysters Rockefeller

This, oddly enough, gives me a bit of faith in humanity.
Well, my gynecologist committed suicide...

Is it just for more clicks or is there actually something happening over there that they're trying to distract everybody from?

The Daily Mail aren't clever enough to be a tool of the powers that be (if you want planted stories, look no further than the Telegraph: MI6's preferred paper of choice when it wants to lie about something).

The Daily Mail is entirely cynical and unashamed about being about the bottom line.  One of the reasons they spend so much on photographers and high quality shots is to attract more clicks.  While the paper has an admitted small c-conservative agenda, it's hardly a willing tool of the government, or anyone else.

Ah. It's your Enquirer.

She was probably a big deal because everybody liked saying "BUTTAFUCCO".

Dude, she and butt fucko are both sociopaths. A few years ago, she did an interview with fox news about how Mary Jo should shut up because she made a fuckton of money off of her story.

I'm surprised she's still being interviewed, given that america has the attention span of a gnat in a meth lab. Nobody talks about Bobbit anymore and he made pr0n with a reattached penz0r.

We will never tire of raging, socopathic whores from Long Island (Jersey) with big mouths. Never.

I've been shaking my head in slow disbelief all week.

"You were offended about something in the daily mail? Really? And the pope follows what religion?"

Later on several people had a long conversation about how/why the woman is horrible. Most of it focused on her appearance. Not a single note of irony anywhere.

Probably the best result of this was a lengthy bbc article which can be summarised as "Don't feed the trolls"

Revelations truly coming thick and fast this week. I'm expecting a major political figure to use "LOL I TROLL U" as a defence within the year.
