Already planning a hunger strike against the inhumane draconian right winger/neoliberal gun bans. Gun control is also one of the worst forms of torture. Without guns/weapons its like merely existing and not living.

I've transcended that. I'm actually too snobby for hipsters.
I have been told this as well. This is because I said something along the lines of the pop charts in 1997 were full of awful crap that I had to endure during the final desolation of my childhood.  :lulz:

In fairness, the pop charts in 1997 were full of awful crap.

Definitely, but apparently saying that some of those songs that were in the top ten were not even the best on their respective albums makes me some sort of uber-hipster.  :lulz:

But back to the OP, I really dig that sound. I'm not sure I'd say it's Outkast/Modest Mouse, but I can definitely see where you were getting the MM, at least, Nigel.

In spite of the inevitable objections, because this song is fucking amazing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib8kvZxpoTs

That is an awesome song. Kinda reminds me of a cross between Modest Mouse and Outkast.

Not a bad song. I'm listening to this. Don't know if it counts as new/special. It's new to me, anyway.

I'm listening to the gayest 80s synthpop ever recorded. I'm talking "Goodbye Horses" level of queer. I grew up on that shit. Mother's milk.

I am rather excited about having discovered this band. A Lebanese alternative pop/rock group with influences from Armenian folk music, with lyrics in Arabic, a lead vocalist who is openly gay, and their songs are about war, peace, homosexuality, challenging gender norms and other awesomeness.

Sometimes, IRL, I sort of drift away and stare into space. People wave their hands in front of me and I ignore them. This is the kind of place I go when that happens.

Sinister Nick Cave-esque murder ballad with some creepy gruesome SFX in the clip, giving it a dense slow boiled intensity.
