man, Verthaine was like a GOD to me when I started out with Discordianism.

I've disagreed with many things Verthaine has had to say...But I've always enjoyed reading his stuff, and he makes me think pretty hard about things, even if I wind up disagreeing with him in the end.  He is and was a pleasure to have around.
