One can only imagine the "correction" that will follow.

do you care to give your prognostication?

Sure. Banks keep robbing us until people finally shift their fat arses off the couch and string up a few of the bastards on some light poles. Satisfying, but the economy will be proper fucked by then.
--- End quote ---
i agree that the economy being fucked is baked in the cake, but do you think that the little people will actually resort to physical violence against the banking class? how do you see that playing out?
--- End quote ---
It's happened before. What you have here is the first, more civilized attempts to holler grievances. The establishment responded with violence. I see a few more "Eileen" incidents happening, and then maybe some cops get torched with molotovs, and then things go downhill from there.
Cain:
It's going to take another crash, at the very least. An actual crash, not just the dress rehearshal that we had in 2008.
Look at the UK phone-hacking scandal as the standard for investigation into corrupt practices among politically connected networks. Yes, something came of it, but it took over five years to get from "hey, News International uses ex-policemen with dodgy backgrounds to hack phones" to "Rebekah Brooks is arrested".
And that's a relatively uncomplicated matter, by comparison to international finance.
Furthermore, for criminal proceedings to go ahead, in the US at least, another crash is necessary, since the SEC is deleting their files on any case over a year or two old - such as, well, pretty much everything that happened in the lead up to the final months of 2008.

Won't help them. Any more middle aged people land on their arses, and there's going to be hell to pay.
President Television:
--- Quote from: Elder Iptuous on May 16, 2012, 01:57:04 pm ---i'm sure people have felt they live in exception times throughout history, but it certainly feels like a cascade is coming...
--- End quote ---
But everyone has lived in an exceptional time, I think. People like to think that there's some kind of default state of peace and quiet in history, but it's becoming clearer and clearer to me that we never really get a break. The flow of events just keeps running on whether we see fit to keep up or not. I tell people shit's gonna hit the fan, and they laugh it off. They say I'm placing too much significance on myself, and on the period of time in which I find myself... but every period of time is significant. There's always a war, or a recession, or a cataclysm of some kind going on. Time is a continuous process. Time will not see fit to give us a break. The Finals are drawing near, as they always are. The Finals of our age.
