Seems like an overgeneralization to start talking about the genetics of "Germans".
In my little corner of Germany (in a big city in the former East) a lot of people have a lot of fun... Probably more people are miserable but it seems to be that way in most places I've been.
Just yesterday, me and the g/f popped out to hang out on this bridge in the park where a lot of hanging out takes place whenever it's warm, and were then steered off course by a weird hippie party with a few dozen people, basically just in the middle of the park, minutes away from the city center...
This kind of stuff happens here every day...

Not that Germany isn't ridiculously oppressive and repressive. It is. But that's a matter of institutions and culture, which are a matter of history...

BTW, I'm just skipping hirley's posts because they seem hard to parse... That's what everyone does, right?

(And yeah, I'm here again, keep yer pance on.)

:? Did you read the article? It's not about genetics at all, the researchers used DNA as a metaphor. It's about institutions and culture and the effects of pressure on the psyche.

QuoteDuring the course of the study, the researchers managed to unlock a typically German sequence of steps to enjoyment, which they named "pleasure DNA." The first step involves the feeling of having earned something. This is followed by preparation for the longed-for pleasure, such as booking a day of wellness treatments. But then comes the biggest hurdle: letting go and clearing the mind. Only when a surprising positive moment supervenes can a fully integrated sense of enjoyment follow.

It's not an especially well-written article, but it's interesting and has an amusing headline.
"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

Blurgh. Yeah I didn't bother to read the full article. Shame on me.
Also, what I wrote was both obvious and simplistic, as I realized soon after writing.
Blurgh.
Unless stated otherwise, feel free to copy or reproduce any text I post anywhere and any way you like. I will never throw a hissy-fit over it, promise.

Every second week of October, Puerto Limón hosts a festival called carnaval. = RACE TIME
The event coincides with Columbus Day (known locally as Día de la Raza) on October 12,
and traditionally lasts for a little over a week (to include two weekendS ? 2 RACE's ?

race1 from Limón to Siquirres   race2 from Siquirres to Puerto Limón & IF you win
the lease the island(TBD) for 5 years for 5 bags/(1000) 5000*5CHP's {COINS) IF
on the other hand you lose the RACE's you lease to her your isle of her choice.
not to include the ones already leased to Chili. {& at her price / 5 years also)

REMinder the object of the island lease is to provide a natural tropic space

appear to be two | one where RIO TORTUGUERO & LAGUNAS del TORTUGUERO meet

there appears to be a smaller? maybe more suitable one two +/- 1 Mile North

of the "Macaws," MAY NOT BE FASHIONABLE .. that however was my inTENT for
the results of the car race in the first place. .E out of ROAD & isLa's too.
