I want him to make one on outrage porn, which is one of the most prevalent fallacies I see circulating and which, outside of this board, doesn't seem to have a name or to have been recognized. It's the fallacy that basically goes "[This scenario] is unjust, therefore it must be true". It's the reason people will circulate National Report articles without stopping for a moment to verify  that this random unknown news source is credible.

It probably has some other name that I'm unaware of, it's been a long time since I took philosophy of argument. I should dig my book out.

It is, but there's a particular permutation I see employed over and over again, which is that the story is just a little over the top in the outrage department, and people fall for it completely. National Report is particularly good at making satire that people believe is reality, like last week's "Banksy arrested in London" story. I've seen even very intelligent people short-circuited by this, because they want to believe. If the story is juicy enough, they go right past assessing credibility and zoom into indignance.
