I liked how they introduced her, like "her mother died in an insane asylum thinking she was Queen Victoria" and my thought was, I like where I think this is going. I was not disappointed.

Definitely one of the best perspective speeches on the human condition and folly I can remember ever hearing. Worth an hour and a half and the speaker's style is very engaging.

He strikes straight to the root on matters of attitude, the absolute necessity of a positive mentality, and the essential weakness and outright disease brought about spiritually and physically by consistent negative bias.

In his speech he incidentally describes first the negative forms of Discordia, argument, fruitless strife, emotional self flagellation, etc.

In the end he well describes the positive aspects and the "fruits" of Eris in trying and striving with a clear mentality and acceptance of the inevitable things without deluding the self into something more pleasant or preferable.

There's a LOT more to unpack, but this is about philosophy and it's place beyond specific religion.

And here is a track from one of my alltime favourite albums. If you are really unlucky and find yourself in deepest west Wales at this festive time of year you can often hear me belting out selections from the Kipper Family's stunning xmas LP Arrest these Merry Gentlemen - you have been warned.

It's Christmas!

I bought 6 presents today, the majority of which consisted of chocolate and other sugar based confectionary. I'm thinking book tokens for the rest.

Manly P. Hall has a shitload of lectures about philosophy, culture, belief, metaphysics...all that happy horseshit.  A couple years back I picked up this MASSIVE torrent of his lectures...although some were almost inaudible.

But...here are 10 more from a quick google: http://www.disclose.tv/news/10_of_the_best_manly_p_hall_lectures/136758

I don't agree that those are "the best" but from those that i have heard but ehh. i'm sure if you crack open some google-fu you can find them with no issue.  Along the same vein, you might also be interested in Pierre Grimes' lectures

Kieth is goddamn awesome. That guy is just nerding it up SO HARD.

Also, wow, it's so cool that it wasn't the bullet that caused it to shatter... this is the kind of thing that makes me wish I had taken more physics classes!
