I liked how they introduced her, like "her mother died in an insane asylum thinking she was Queen Victoria" and my thought was, I like where I think this is going. I was not disappointed.

He was Thomas Jefferson's g-g-g-grandson, and led the American army at Khesanh in 1967.

Suu, *I* did have to google also.

Maybe AMERICA IS NOT THE WORLD!

:O

Probably was never shown in the UK.

If I've seen all of AbFab, the LEAST the UK can get is All In the Family and The Jeffersons! Classic American television. Of course, Archie Bunker is the quintessential Teabagger by today's standards, but shit, 40 years ago he was hysterical (and they also took it as comedy.)

Is this the same classic American tv that was based on a British show by any chance?

What makes it so? Making it so is what makes it so.

Suu

No, Edith and Archie were always at odds.

He was such an asshole.

Yep. And Sanford and Son was based on Steptoe and Son.

But we had REDD FOXX.

I'm pretty sure that American television has ripped off more BBC shows than it should have. Fortunately, the BBC has always done it better. I remember when they tried, TRIED, to get AbFab on primetime network TV, not just Comedy Central. Yeah, that didn't go over well. Apparently mainstream America just isn't ready for that level of sex, drugs, and fabulous.

They tried to make an american version and neutered it like a toothless, declawed cat. I think Roseanne Barr was the one who tried to get it going.
Which tells me all I need to know about what would happen if by some miracle she was actually elected president.

I want to see someone do a gritty reboot of The Piglet Files.  Someone call Michael Bay!
