Beta backer was released on Steam today.  Just downloading it now.

No beta access here, keep me posted I'm expecting great things.

Specifically interested in quality of writing/plot, the mechanical side of it was pretty well covered in the updates
Nine naked Men just walking down the road will cause a heap of trouble for all concerned.

Well, they've stripped the entire main plot out of the beta, so no spoilers will occur.

Bards are OP, by the way.  Probably for the first and last time in an RPG ever.  Chanters are gonna get nerfed at some point, but they couldn't do it for the beta.

Dialogue has been average thus far, but I've only been wandering around the village.  Been invited to hunt for a murderer I've never heard of, which sounds suspiciously like a setup, but not found them yet, and to kill an ogre.

Character specialisation is quite in-depth.  You not only get to pick a race, but also a cultural background and social role (aristocrat, scholar, mercenary, slave etc).  Cultural backgrounds give small stat bonuses, I assume social role may have dialogue impacts.

No combat yet, but I've got other things to be getting on with, so I've put it aside for the moment.

No main plot? Damn shame. Was kind of looking forward to a more detailed synopsis. Ah well, shouldn't be too long till release now.

Well, there was a lot of concern on the forums about spoilers and the like.  I actually thought they might put us on a few levels of the Endless Paths mega-dungeon thing.  No stronghold available either, but you can work your way up to level 8, craft and explore pretty freely.

In terms of gameplay, it certainly feels and plays like an Infinity Engine game.  Tab to highlight, point and click etc
