I'm gonna qualify that:  The fact that people are spazzing the hell out over it, and that it's getting too loud to be ignored, means that while it may be a wretched place, it may not remain wretched for long.

Also, hell yes.  3" knives for everyone.

I REALLY hope it means it's getting better.

I also hope this has an effect on their caste system.

Faint hope of that, I fear.  The caste system is so deeply entrenched, I don't know what it would take to start removing it.
