News:

Don't get me wrong, I greatly appreciate the fact that you're at least putting effort into sincerely arguing your points. It's an argument I've enjoyed having. It's just that your points are wrong and your reasons for thinking they're right are stupid.

Mesozoic Mister Nigel

Those are fucking excellent. Maybe QG will consider putting them all together into an infographic we can passive-aggressively post on Facebook?
"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

Back in the day, children respected their elders.

BECAUSE WE TAUGHT THEM RESPECT WITH A BELT

I would have interest in such a group, Freeky.

And I second (third) Nigel's idea on the infographics
There's no sun shine coming through her ass, if you are sure of your penis.

Paranoia is a disease unto itself, and may I add, the person standing next to you, may not be who they appear to be, so take precaution.

If there is no order in your sexual life it may be difficult to stay with a whole skin.

Quick vote on format:

1) Desaturated nostalgia photos with single pair of lines (i.e. Nobody got divorced / BECAUSE WOMEN COULDN'T SUPPORT THEMSELVES)

2) Long list of pairs over low contrast abstract background

3) List of "nevers" followed by list of "BECAUSES" with elaborate victorian-era clipart

Back in the day, Those People knew their place.

Back in the day, Women knew their place.  And if this stressed them, we had Thalidomide to keep them happy.  Happy as any Stepford Wife could expect to be.  Shame about the flipper babies, but nothing in this world is free.

Back in the day, bullying was encouraged by teachers, to "toughen the kids up".

Back in the day, alcoholism was what you did after work.

Back in the day, we didn't talk about HIV, so it didn't exist.

Back in the day, we drove cars that killed everyone in them in a minor accidents.

Back in the day, if you couldn't get to the phone in a medical crisis, you died.

Ah, the good old days.

I like all of them. I like to keep memes kinda loose, so I'm in favor of all and future variations. Wide amount of interpretation while sticking to the basic form. "Back in the day X/BECAUSE OF HORRIBLE Y"

I also like the idea of the split pics to show contrast. Show a modern thing that wasn't always how it was, show a past thing as to why.

I also like the idea of some of them being

Things weren't always this bad, they were worse. It simultaneously shows that a) we need to progress. b) we have progressed.

Things ARE better.  But "better" isn't the same as "good enough".
