A question conservatives don't seem to like asking is, why is there a disproportion of black men committing crime? We already know that crime is linked to poverty, and that poverty is linked to race. How can they not connect those dots?

That's just lamestream media lies.

Crime is caused by BAD PEOPLE. And everyone knows blacks do the most crime.

Really, the most sensible thing to so is to make being black a crime.

Yes ann,the majority of criminals (who get caught and convicted) are black. White skin i mean collar crimes arent really a big deal.

Yeah, that's the obvious follow-up question, which all the "liberals act as if blacks have no agency!" is designed to stem off.

The thing is, though, that is the thing.  Because once you ask that question, and ask it honestly, not in the Christian Identity "non-whites are the product of monkeys breeding with the devil" way, you have to come to the conclusion that the differences are socio-economic in origin.  There is nothing else it could be.  Genetics and culture alone are entirely insufficient.  And then a whole can of worms is opened.

Yeah, stuff gets complicated once the dialogue turns to social responsibility. It's far easier to keep it simple by screeching for personal responsibility. Every man an island, and all that.

"Agency".

That's the word I was looking for.  Thanks, Cain.

Precisely.  Emphasis on personal responsibility.  No such thing as society.  Talk about socio-economics is treating people as having no agency, you racist swine.  Etc etc ad infintum.

Because being poor is a choice, everybody knows there are tons of jobs out there, and that McDonald's just proved you dont need to live with heat.

Yes, we don't so much interact as simply exist in isolated parallel, and everything that happens to us is fully under our control.

Why would anyone on this planet give a third of a fuck about what this baboon's ass has to say??

She speaks
I hear: fart fart brap, prrrrrrrrrrrrrp, brap, bwonk.

Vapid bitch.

For the lulz, of course.  This is what the right has been reduced to, in only 5 years.

That is a sad and hilarious truth/fact.

Um, I think another element is that white people committing crimes are less likely to get busted doing it.

...Admittedly anecdotal, but the little white hoodlums in our neighborhood didn't get busted until they were caught robbing a house in another neighborhood...they seemed to rob us without much police action.

Not anecdotal:
QuoteAccording to the Human Rights Watch, people of color are no more likely to use or sell illegal drugs than whites, but they have higher rate of arrests. African Americans comprise 14 percent of regular drug users but are 37 percent of those arrested for drug offenses.

That is another serious aspect of the problem, and one I've written on extensively.

HOWEVER, since it's not one that the Right is willing to acknowledge in the first place, there's not much point in wondering why they don't take it a step further. On the other hand, they do eagerly acknowledge that crime rates are higher among young black men, so asking them to do a  little logical excavation around why that might be seems within the realm of reason.

"Born Bad."

That's the thing... they don't like to dig into it too much because at some point they end up at one of two conclusions: One being social factors, and the other being racial inferiority. Both are uncomfortable for them, so they shy away from logical examination.
