I made those charts at the CT meetup a few years back, for reasons I only partially remember.

We needed to calculate how much everyone was going to pitch in for the rental, which was mildly complicated by the fact that people who slept on the floor would pay less than people who actually got a bed.

As it turns out, I am EXTREMELY good at fucking up algebra problems.

Right! Is this a sort of accurate timeline?

1. need to calculate how to split rental + etc.

2. cainad smells an algebra problem, pounces.

3. he gets it wrong.

4. tripzip decides to one-up cainad and writes code to generate a whole table of incorrect numbers.

5. he gets it wrong.

6. tripzip fixes code and generates new table of incorrect numbers.

7. suddenly, time passes.

8. dimo finds himself in a state of urgency, posts this thread.
