The thing is, in many, if not most, group endeavours, organizations, fields, or projects...

The overall group WANTS to identify the smartest guy in the room.  They will be hapless and scared without one.  And one WILL be identified and crowned, willingly or not.

http://psychcentral.com/quizzes/narcissistic.htm

I scored a 14, being as honest as I could.

I scored 7, being as honest as possible.

To be fair though, some of the questions were hard to respond to.  I mean, ruling the world.  What does that mean?  Do I get an army?  Will the majority of states accept my overlordship?  Is this a democracy or a dictatorship?  Or am I Ban-Ki Moon with an extravagant title?  Factors man, factors.  Assuming a benevolent dictatorship in which my authority was broadly accepted and the coercive elements of power were under my secure command...ruling the world might be OK.

But since it didn't say that, I had to go with No.

Also, the one about power for it's own sake kinda threw me.  Power is never for it's own sake.  Power is a means to an end, the end being...well, whatever one is seeking.  It may be gratification for certain psychological flaws, or it may be more grand.  The more selfish those means, the more they may appear to be for their own sake, but appearances are deceiving.

Scoring below average is a bit worrying, may indicate a possible problem with self-esteem?  Dunno.  Might be something to look into.  Or may just be a silly online test.  Undecided.

I scored 11 but I'm pretty sure it was a shitty test. Most of the questions my honest answer would have been "sometimes" (q7) or "depends on the situation" (q12)

I wanted another option on almost every question.
I scored 10, mainly in selfsufficiency.

Of course it is a shitty online test.  Probably cooked up by a college student.

You really know very little about me so you really can't say that with any authority.

I know what you've demonstrated at this board.

And for all practical purposes, that's all I NEED to know, isn't it?  So I can't see the "real" you?  Big fucking deal.  I can see the you that posts on this board.  The one I with whom I speak.

And that one is a laughably narcissistic prick.

I've been here for a little over 8 years, which come out to a bit over 3000 days.  I've spent a total of 194 days logged in.  That represents only 6.4% of those 3000 days.  So only 6.4% of my life over the past 8 years has been represented here, and that is high-balling it when you consider that I haven't spent every minute of those 194 days posting.

So, demonstrably, you have next to squat to stand on in your assessment.

thing with laughably narcissistic pricks is, people who aren't laughably narcissistic pricks tend to be able to spot them pretty quickly, without having to go through all the tedious bullshit that getting to know a laughably narcissistic prick would usually entail. It's a natural defence mechanism.

He's not really a narcissist, he just plays one on the internet.

I don't give a fuck about the "real" RWHN.  I can only base my decisions on what I see, what you SHOW us.  I am not omniscient.  I cannot see what else is in your squirrely little head.

So if you choose to be an ASSHOLE, that's what people are going to see you as, not matter WHAT kind of Special Flower you are inside.
