So have you ever heard the sound of a truck hitting a human body hard enough to send it flying 25 feet away?

The weird thing Is I don't recall hearing the screech of tires... how do you hit someone and not react by slamming on the breaks?

Ok I was halfway down the hall but still.

I walked into the open room at the end of the hall and looked out the window as someone reminded themselves the phone number for 911 over and over... they were on the phone as I noticed one of the bruce residents outside next to the body lying on the ground.

I turn and ran down stairs asking for a blanket on the way down two flights of stairs.

I don't know what I was thinking... I know it's cold.

Did I wan't the woman to not catch cold?!?!?

who the fuck knows.

I brought the blanket past a woman talking on a cell phone talking about how she just lost her job.

I learned later that this woman was the driver of the truck and that she had been on the phone the entire time.

how the hell do you send another human flying 20 or so feet and fucking talk about how you lost your job the entire time?!?!?

Ok I understand your pain... losing a job is tough... do you know how hard it is to be hit by a truck?!?!?

I am not impressed.

I try to think that people are basicly good.

you hit someone talking on your cell phone and you stay on the phone complaining about losing your job while you should be calling 911?!?!?

and then all the fucking assholes that are trying to get through traffic.... you think a group of people is gathering in the middle of the road for no reason?!?!?

fine think that... but mother fucker you see emergency vehicles and maybe just maybe you might have to deal with the fact that your mashed potatoes might get cold....

Did she live and if she did, how severe were her injuries?

I hope the person on the cell phone was still talking when the police arrived on the scene.

believe it or not she works in the emegency room at the hospital.

I don't know how severe her injuries are but sheing she is on the board of the WRC and I live in the WRC bruce housing project I know we will hear updates.

I knew none of this till two hours later.

One of my freinds in an attempt to help reaffirm my belief in mankind told me that people don't get off the phone long enough to save their own lifes.


she works in a pharmacy. She said that she tries to tell people how to take her meds and when and all the information they need to know... and people tell her " I'm on the phone"...

this helped... in a sick twisted way it helps to know that people don't even care enough about themselves to get off the phone long enough to save their own fucking lives.

and while I thank Gnimbly for thinking I'm not a shit I do have to say that in this case I wasn't, but oh boy... I have been known to be.

It's all about this kinda shit, and has a strange, dark way of making you feel better about humanity.  In fact, one of the story lines in the movie is about a young woman who gets hit by a car, and her thoughts...and other stuff about it thats more complicated.

It's an Indy Film though, so it might be hard to get ahold of, but I think you might need to try.  Fucking amazing movie.

If it's an indy i know someone who has it... thats what me and my friends do is watch independant films... but then again having said that I have no clue as to why I haven't seen "23".
