So, our old Mayor, "Mumbles" Menino, decided not to run this year.

There were 12 candidates in the primary, made up of one black woman, a few old white irish guys, some young white guys, a latino guy, and a handful of black guys.

Primary Elections were last night, to choose two potential candidates.

The next mayor of Boston will be an old white Irish guy.

QuoteIn other news, today I was told that although the prerequisite for Chem 221 is math 111, and the prerequisite for Chem 222 is Chem 221, and the prerequisite for Chem 223 is Chem 222, and NOWHERE in my degree requirements does it say I need Calculus, IN FACT it specifically says Calculus OR Statistics so I took Statistics because I know that's required for graduate school, today, TODAY I was informed that I need to take trig and calc for my next two chemistry classes.

WHY DOES THIS PISS ME OFF?

Well, because if I'd known I needed them I would have taken them IN SEQUENCE AFTER ALGEBRA instead of taking Stats, because now it's been nine months since I finished algebra and that means, naturally, that I've forgotten most of it. Stats I could have taken at any time, it doesn't really flow naturally from algebra like trig does.

It also borks my projected graduation date. Oh the fuck well. I guess I'm back to double majoring, then. Fuck it.

WELL THIS ALL SOUNDS AWFULLY FUCKING FAMILIAR

CAN'T THINK WHY THOUGH

HAHAHAHA WOULDN'T IT BE FUNNY IF UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION AND ORGANIZATIONAL PERSONNEL HAD THEIR NARDS HOOKED UP TO TAZERS

NO REASON AT ALL, I JUST THINK IT WOULD BE FUNNY

Cainad,
not twitching at all what are you talking about

Had to take the younger kidlet out of school today, he hit the teacher and is generally being an ass. They want to evaluate him for the adhds. I feel like seven butts.

Aw. :( How old is he? As long as you're at it, see if you can get him IQ tested, they wanted us to have the son evaluated for ADHD (reasonable enough, because I have it) and it turned out that he was just a genius.

hallway painted in the flat, needs a gloss touch up and another coat of the aqua. Lounge is definitely getting there, needs a second coat of yellow and for the grey above the picture rail to be done, as well as the gloss... the hideous school green is all gone!

My room next...

I've hardly been online all week because of the decorating. Will try and find a non-crappy camera for pics.

Whoo, Nigel!

Also, I feel your pain on the prereqs.  I just found out that switching my major means I need three semesters of the same foreign language.  I took two semesters of Latin.  That was thirteen years ago.  I'll likely have to audit Latin 1, then re-take Latin 2 (since I got a C the first time).

On the upside, the anthropology department is way more active than the school of social welfare was.  They have a whole forensic anthropology lab, chock full of bones for me to classify (in a few semesters).

Tonight's homework is- helping my sister figure out what she needs to claim her Irish citizenship. It will be a good refresher for when mine expires in 2 years.

It sounds lovely!

I would love to paint in here, perhaps someday I will. One room at a time.

My homework is apparently "being really fucking tired for no reason really".

I suspect I may be fighting off one of the many viruses the children have been spewing about lately, which is not really OK right now. I have 101 pages of "Understanding Architecture" to read by tomorrow night, and a chemistry class to prep for.

Ugh on all accounts.

Looks like Twidsister is going to have to wait a year. She's still a minor and needs both parents to sign off. Unless Nick counts on account of stepfather. Hmmm.
