Well I can only agree, but I don't think I'm overintellectualizing....I just talk like an essay sometimes. :) In class I actually take notes by oversimplifying and drawing stick people doing the things the teacher is talking about. But I digress.

I think we were put here to learn, you know, and it baffles me when I see people who are in a lockdown mentally, they're like "Well, I got all I need, brain's full now, don't tell me anything else."

And Llama, you're right as well, esp. when it comes to religion, it's not like a test you can study for and extra thinking is always good. Sometimes you have to just hit "clear" and live for a while. I like to take little bites, learn a little, and then go and apply it and see if it works, and then come back and have a little more.

I read a wonderful book called the "Lazy Man's Guide to Enlightenment" and basically, it's this guy, who was in the hippie days originally, and he did all kinds of drugs, and wrote shit down, and the thing he said that still sticks with me is that the stuff that made it into his book was what was still true no matter how fucked up he was in the head, it even made sense while he was high(or low, as the case may be) and he talked about how he went out and tried to debunk all of it, and what made it into the book was the stuff he could not debunk.

"Chao Patties" is even better, I think we have a winner.

...hmm, well, looks like that's all the time we have for today, and remember, when you reach the inevitable conclusion that WE'RE THE ASSHOLES, do the smart thing and keep it to yourself.

Happy thought for the day: Abraham Lincoln was shot in the head for a reason.

Some yahoo yelled at me, saying 'GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH', and I thought, "I'm feeling generous today.  Why not BOTH?"

Wishfarple

heh, thanks.  I'm finding great wisdom in White Ninja.  Gotta thank whoever posted that link in the Webcomics thread.

But yeah, it struck me yesterday.  WHY did JWB shout "Thus always to tyrants!!" after he shot dude and JUMPED OFF THE BALCONY onto the stage?  Someone was hella pissed.

He was a bastard anarchist.  Decent anarchists are as rare as decent politicians.

Quote from: ScribeWell, when i spoke about learning I also just meant generally.  People do tend to over intellectualise stuff alot, something I try to avoid if possible.

The only thing worth knowing is that nobody knows anything.

John Wilkes Booth was also a total drama queen and an ACTOR. Actors are paid to be dramatic. It would be like having Brad Pitt or someone shoot Bush. They'd go for the drama and shout something stupid. Most likely the same thing.

Oh well, what's most important is that they're most likely both now wormfood. At

Wishfarple

Yeah, because you can hire actors to shoot people for you and they'll naturally just ham it up.

Come on, now.

I don't mean like "He was an actor hired to do it" I mean he was a staunch antiLincolnite who just happened to be an actor.
