All this jazz about jazz has got me thinking that I have no hip-hop or rap in my possession, and I have no idea at all what is or isn't a good place to start.

Cardinal Pizza Deliverance.

Take with a grain of salt.

Dessa, individually, and Doomtree as a whole. Immortal Technique. I liked Fort Minor. Beastie Boys, ICP; naturally.

And I'm not ashamed to admit I really liked Kanye West's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy". But I haven't listed to any of the stuff before or after that.

East Coast Hustle

In no particular order except for the first few:

Bliss 'n' Eso - just get their entire discography, but if I had to pick one album it'd probably be Running on Air
Goldini Bagwell - Chainsmoke
Outkast - it's all amazing but ATLiens and Aquemini are both Top 10 all-time hip-hop albums

Doomtree
Jedi Mind Tricks (Servants in Heaven, Kings in Hell is their best album by far)
Atmosphere (suggest God Loves Ugly)
Grieves
Cunninlynguists
Grayskul
La Coka Nostra
Brother Ali

and the foreigners:

Hilltop Hoods (Aus)
The Herd (Aus)
Die Antwoord (S. Africa)
Ben Sharpa (S. Africa)
Brotherman (UK)
Roots Manuva (UK)
Klashnikoff (UK)
Looptroop Rockers (Sweden)
Snowgoons (Germany)
Rabid Colostomy Hole Jammer of the Coming Apocalypse™

The Devil is in the details; God is in the nuance.

Some yahoo yelled at me, saying 'GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH', and I thought, "I'm feeling generous today.  Why not BOTH?"

If ECH was going to be in this thread already, I was going to summon him.

Don't forget classic Wu Tang Clan, and I also second Immortal Technique and Die Antwoord. I fucking love those guys.

Be what you would seem to be - or, if you'd like it put more simply - never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations.

I don't want be a dick, but I don't want holist posting in any of my threads. If he continues, or if people can't hold it in their pants, I'd like to ask for a thread split at that time. This also applies to the muppet.
