MysticWicks endorsement: "I've always, always regarded the Discordians as being people who chose to be Discordians because they can't be arsed to actually do any work to develop a relationship with a specific deity, they were too wishy-washy to choose just one path, and they just want to be a mishmash of everything and not have to work at learning about rituals or traditions or any such thing as that."

I will say a lot more parents expect teachers to do much more than in the past (I have first-hand accounts of people expecting schools to teach their children how to use a toilet properly, how to handle a knife and fork, how to dress etc), and of course I have my own experiences of quote elite eduction unquote, where you're expected to do practically everything short of sit the exam for them.

But if that was the only problem with the education system, well, we'd be doing well.  Educational fads like MOOC, teaching to the test, percieved low status of educators, general underfunding, privatization of educational establishments etc are far more serious than idiotic parents who expect teachers to make their little darling pass, regardless of effort, skill or understanding.
