  :argh!: :argh!: :argh!:

I'd be upset that we lost, but Belgium was clearly the better team. If it weren't for Howard being superhuman today it would've been a blowout. Good game Belgium!

Someone find yatto lets get the band back together.

Also, no real Americans care about soccer.

I'm more upset at Switzerland losing.  Argentina had more possession, but the Swiss played damn good regardless.

You would be, you chocolate-sucking swine.

And yes, Tim Howard was awesome.  But when your best player is the keeper, you're kind of fucked.

Also, what's with the US sleeping for 115 minutes, and then finally starting to play some damn football in the last five?  Sure, it was exciting, but that ain't no winning strategy.

Also also, the youngest USMNT player in the World Cup gets a goal on his first touch.  You can't script shit like that.

That and I had Switzerland in the draw.

Now I'm hoping France win, because they're actually less arrogant and pretentious than the current Brazilian team.  That kind of effort from the French deserves recognition.

Impressive, indeed.

Portland has some sort of weird obsession with soccer lately.
"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

Good honest American sports are too mainstream.

I think it has something to do with this team called the "Timbers" or something.

Sounds Canadian. Probably some kind of socialist plot.

Ah, so it isn't just my country that is going a bit more overboard than usual about this ballsport.
I can't tell if it is a result of the rise in nationalism or not.

I don't really understand what's happening. Portlanders are not usually very enthusiastic about sportsing.
