Sounds like the right move. The review on Amazon was partly about the author releasing a re-designed edition of some sort.
Otherwise the review was full of praise but notably vague. I have never heard of this book. What is it about and for what reason is is a reading list pick?
£85 for the hardback! I'll settle for doing a google image search and deciding it really would make a stunning bog book;
as upmarket toilet paper. Also, all the "reading" in it seems to be in abstruse squiggles.
This visual encyclopedia of an unknown world written in an unknown language has fueled much debate over its meaning.

Apparently I am not the target audience

eta I read the WIRED interview with the author that Nigel recommends below. The toilet paper comment was probably a bit harsh.

Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don’t fall out of the sky. They don’t pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It’s what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you’re going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. St George Carlin
