TESTEMONAIL:  Right and Discordianism allows room for personal interpretation. You have your theories and I have mine. Unlike Christianity, Discordia allows room for ideas and opinions, and mine is well-informed and based on ancient philosophy and theology, so, my neo-Discordian friends, open your minds to my interpretation and I will open my mind to yours. That's fair enough, right? Just claiming to be discordian should mean that your mind is open and willing to learn and share ideas. You guys are fucking bashing me and your laughing at my theologies and my friends know what's up and are laughing at you and honestly this is my last shot at putting a label on my belief structure and your making me lose all hope of ever finding a ideological group I can relate to because you don't even know what the fuck I'm talking about and everything I have said is based on the founding principals of real Discordianism. Expand your mind.

For the better part of my life, I've had an interest in learning how to make visual art. Due to various circumstances beyond my control, I never really got a chance to properly practice those skills, but recently I've had more free time on my hands, and enough money to buy a Wacom tablet. About a month ago, I picked up a free trial of Photoshop CS6, and although the trial expired today, I think I've developed my skills to the point of presentability. So I'm gonna show off. A lot of these are gonna be related in some way to tabletop games.

Jose Trejo, a character I wrote up for a homebrew RPG based on the high-camp manga JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Another player's characters from a Pathfinder game I'm in: The bookish, timid summoner Fenney and his eidolon Jess. Jess is the real character; as far as roleplaying goes Fenney's just along for the ride.

If I can get my hands on another art program, there'll be more to come. Criticism is welcomed.
My shit list: Stephen Harper, anarchists that complain about taxes instead of institutionalized torture, those people walking, anyone who lets a single aspect of themselves define their entire personality, salesmen that don't smoke pipes, Fredericton New Brunswick, bigots, philosophy majors, my nemesis, pirates that don't do anything, criminals without class, sociopaths, narcissists, furries, juggalos, foes.

These are great! Wacoms do indeed rule  :fnord:

There's a free alternative to photoshop, which will do everything you need it to do to keep on drawing: http://www.gimp.org/

There's also an inexpensive drawing program called Clip Studio Paint (previously called Manga Studio), which has all sorts of great bells and whistles for tablet illustration. It's what I use these days. http://www.clipstudio.net/en

Best wishes and keep up the great work!

Thanks, I'm installing GIMP as I speak. I should have some more work up later on this week.

Great drawings.

(and also I agree about G.I.M.P., it's a great program!)

So I ended up going with Photoshop CS2. I'd gotten used to Photoshop, and no other program was really doing it for me. Besides, there's a loophole that lets you legally acquire it for free.

Someone requested some character art from me, and I saw it as an opportunity to practice my anatomy. This is far from complete, I should probably mention.

You may notice the rather fabulous bent of my posing. It'll only get more fabulous from here.

Here's an update. I have to say, I had a lot of trouble with that face, but I really like the way it turned out. Constructing these things in three dimensions really helps.

Krita is an amazing free painting suite. I'd recommend it over Photoshop for the sheer number of effects you can achieve:

Nice drawings BTW.
