You're obviously not watching it cook.  Bad things happen when you do that.  BAD THINGS.

"Billy, when I say that ethics is our number one priority and safety is also our number one priority, you should take that to mean exactly what I said. Also quality. That's our number one priority as well. Don't look at me that way, you're in the corporate world now and this is how it works."

If you stare at a bird while it's in the oven it gets embarrassed and won't soak in the juices like the filthy harlot it is

EoC, you are the bane of my existence.

EoC doesn't make creepy.

EoC makes creepy worse.

It turned out great but I need more practice carving a chicken. Cooking a Cornish game hen on Monday for practice was a good choice. Now I have meals for 3 or 4 days ready.

We went to the store the other day and took advantage of the 2-for-1 post-Thanksgiving sale. Now we have one turkey defrosting in the fridge, and the other is in the freezer. For later.

I will post again when it's roasting time.

I usually do a Yorkshire pudding with beef roast, never done one with turkey. Not a bad idea though!

It works with chicken and turkey just as well.

Home made, though.  Store stuff is so much worse.  A good Yorkshire pudding full of gravy should be half a meal on it's own.

They don't sell them here, so it's homemade or nothing.

They're so tasty and easy to make I don't understand why they aren't more popular in the US. Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't even thought about it but now I want Yorkshire pudding!

Oh, there's like this readymade stuff in the UK, and it's just awful.  It's like a quarter of the density, more like a puff pastry than a pudding.  You put gravy in it and it just collapses.

Also I have some Yorkshire roots on the English side, so my family basically have Yorkshire puddings with every roast.  Pork, beef...probably duck and lamb, if we ever had it.

Premade just sounds sad.

And why bother, when you can make one so easily? It's basically just flour, eggs, and grease.

Mmmmm now I want one. Right now. For breakfast.

I'm not 100% sure, but because there's no leavening agent, you'll need to whip the hell out of the eggs.
