Reading is how the demons get in your eyeballs.

This is true, and it's why all books should be banned unless it's the Bible, and we really shouldn't look at that too hard, either.  Just in case.

I went to the public library's website to reserve some books, and there was a thumbnail that caught my eye: Martha Reads Banned Books and one of the books featured in the thumbnail was Harry fucking Potter and the god damn Sorcerer's Stone.  So I looked to see what was on the least and lo! thirty books were on the list, with a comment about each.

Apparently, the first book of the Hunger Games trilogy is "occult/satanic," and Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee just says "If there's a possibility that something might be controversial, then why not eliminate it."

I facepalmed so hard, you guys.

Missing "The Handmaid's Tale." I'm surprised. That one is a hot topic now.  I haven't gotten to it yet, but considering how it takes place in a Christian totalitarian post-United States, I can see why some people want it squirreled away.

There are episodes that are dull and episodes that get my gizzard, but I still quite like South Park.

Many of the jokes are stupid and I sometimes disagree with the point it's trying to make, but a lot of it manages to be fucking hilarious, even while they're making a stupid point.

My brother hates it though.  He only liked it the first couple seasons, which I liked at the time but when I try to watch now I just cringe.
There's good news tonight.  And bad news.  First, the bad news: there is no good news.  Now, the good news: you don't have to listen to the bad news.

Ever seen Brickleberry? It's like it was written for people who thought South Park was too high brow.

I guess human sacrifice could be seen as "occult"?

If they missed the entire point of the sacrifice, I suppose?  Sort of like how 1984's comment was "pro-communism?"  Way to reading comprehension, bros.

Well,  Orwell was a dedicated communist when he wrote the book.  It actually IS pro communism, it's just anti Stalinism.

In my defense, it's been ten years+ since I read it.  But I do appreciate the correction, thanks. :)

Not quite true.  He was a socialist.

Cain I just wanted to note that I stared at the reply box for several minutes on the child abuse investigation article after reading it, trying to compose myself..

The fact it's happening still
is a welcome sign to me

on the tip-top branches of the tree.

Poetry aside, I think I mostly need something to punch.
