Wheee, been called into another official meeting on my time off.

This time, it's because I had the audacity to point out having a single person on duty and making them work 12 and 1/2 hours overnight without a break is illegal, and also putting students and staff at risk.  Which should be obvious...

Most meetings, really.

Like... not to vapor distill? Like... like it might have amoebas or something? IIRC lead poison starts with getting unusually surly and a bit achy, then depending on frequency and amount per it could stay there or go all the way to the infamous bleeding gums and the like... that would probably take a while, but it's really up to him at this point.

Do you think it would tip him off if you asked how much he felt was necessary to boil off to make it "safe", as he figures? If he's not getting a lot of water volume return on his "treatment" he's gonna present symptoms all the faster from concentration.

This time, it's because I had the audacity to point out having a single person on duty and making them work 12 and 1/2 hours overnight without a break is illegal, and also putting students and staff at risk.  Which should be obvious...

Hahaha, oh wow.

OK, to be fair, they got me good here.  So, the meeting was not at all about that, despite, you know, the invite and everything saying it was.

No, instead, they wanted to give me a bollocking for not leaving the room I just moved out of squeaky clean.

Yes, the room they made me move out of over a weekend wasn't left perfectly.  Terribly surprising.

However, they felt this was sufficient cause to invite me, under false pretences, bring in another person without informing me, and give me a bollocking (complete with raising voice, talking to me like I'm a child and casting doubts on my professionability)...because the room needs a vaccuum and dusting.  They also felt this was so important that they had to put back a meeting which was about their breaking the law and staff and student safety.

I was too angry for much in the way of witty rejoinders.  I told them they just fucked themselves, that I am not attending any future meetings on security or helping the college in any other way, and stormed out.

I am angry though.  They're literally putting staff and child safety below the state of a room which will, at worst, take half an hour to clean.

Whee, a grand total of 27 minutes to clean up.  And points should be deducted from that, since the vacuum cleaner is just that terrible.  Much awful, very deplorable.

:argh!: just more fuckery. I'm thinking things are more crooked than you've given them credit for. These weird brush-off tactics imply to me that someone up the chain has no interest in too much scrutiny. It just could be that you're working for petty, possibly even dangerous, crooks not really interested in the well being of the students so much as a revenue stream to hide shitty enterprise in maybe... whatever it is they're not going to play YOU straight about it for sure. If so, no amount of legit behavior on your part was ever going to gain traction through "the proper channels" to begin with.

Silly them for kicking you out of your place. They took and burned the closest thing that they had to real(if limited) leverage on you and all opportunity to know what you're up to, for no real benefit. Dumb crooks are the worst when feeling threatened though. Guess I'm just saying keep extra watch on your back man. I hope I'm mistaken.

Burn it all and salt the earth it stands on.

It's the only reasonable option now.

Started an official complaints process against the department head (raising his voice at me in the meeting was a really bad idea).

Also looking into how I can anonymously contact inspection agencies.

Also applied for yet more jobs.

Here's the write-ups. This character has been percolating since the whole Jehovabubba thing took over my head for a while. It's changed to reflect the blending for "The Assault On Christmas" story setting, which I'm working on when I'm done with the last of The Secret Genesis. I'm going to do more "cards" too as I get a chance.

Name: Mama Nigel, Saint of Science
Lulz: 3
Reg: Science, Troll, Lifestyle
Tags: fabulous, horrible, magic
Txt: At the beginning of the Posting Phase flounce all other spags with the magic tag that are regged to the same thread as MN, SOS and then dispell all magic effects in play on the thread with a threshold less than 5. MN, SOS gains +3 lulz permanently for every spag flounced in this way. If this effect tips the balance of lulz enough to win the thread outright then after the effects of winning the thread resolve move MN, SOS to any other thread on the board that has not yet been resolved this round and that this spag could normally Reg to. If no such thread is in play on the board then instead flounce MN, SOS immediately after all other effects of winning the thread resolve if this card is still in play.

If any effect would remove this card from the game or return it to your hand from play instead place it on top of your Flounce Pile.

"Mama Nigel", called by some adherents of the West African tradition's American offshoots "The Orisha of Science", is in fact not an Onarian incarnation or inhabitation in strictest sense, but an anomaly nominally allied with the various animistic Onerian factions in operation under Shadow Treaty RDRR-86 Ref: *REDACTED FOR THREE LINES*

Hard information of how this being came to find corporeal form and the origin of the association with existing Onarian factions is unavailable at this time. It is known that the "alliance" is widely, if quietly, complained about due to "Mama Nigel's" demand that her adherents forswear all other Onarian-traditional supportive activities as "pointless mystical gobbledygook" and begin acquisition of a hard scientific education. That this one-sided tributary "alliance" continues, and that it's continuance is the only thing solidly known to OIC, is the only testament to the apparent power of this anomalous entity, and the only one necessary. OIC has no authority to monitor or interfere in the affairs of this being per SG Edict *REDACTED FOR TWO LINES, SEAL BLOTTED OUT*

END OF AUTHORIZED SUMMARY

I have a short vignette involving the Wizard attempting to deliver a package and being stunned to discover an INCARNA OF THE NIGEL just, like, sitting there in a lab cryo-slicing serpent brains like that's nothing unusual. Just because EVERY world has exactly one and they never, ever have been known to take up flesh, (Great One be merciful!) is no good reason to just freak out and run... he's got a contract to fulfill after all. He just wasn't expecting the Yeti....

I'll write it up properly when I place it into an actual plot arc.
