Hey, decader! Two decader here. Do you  know about the new Creative/Destructive chart developed around 2004?

It might clear things up.

Are you referring to https://www.scribd.com/document/35737152/Creative-Destruction ?

I have not; I can appreciate that it schisms into multiple, seemingly contradictory dimensions rather than the original two-dimensional compass. Reads a bit like a D&D character-creation guide, though. I'm not sure it really clears anything up. I hope that the ratio that I'm seeing of blatant assholes to self-aware assholes is limited to this particular subforum, but maybe that's the wrong way to look at it.

What DID you come here for?

If you want to know the answer to that question, then you should read my post in the introductions thread. If you're just being an asshole, then you are cordially invited to my ignore list.

Your introduction was a rambling and self-centered background with no statement of intent.

It didn't say what you are seeking here.

But he is the main character, you twat.  We are all walk-ons, and we should be conforming to his expectations.  What the fuck is WRONG with You People?

Introductions are, by their very nature, "rambling and self-centered". If you're going to criticize me, take a stab at something legitimate.

Do I need to be seeking something?

For years, the only symbol I truly believed in was the Tao; the more I've learned about chaos and entropy as fundamental states of the Universe and the balance between order and disorder (as well as the emphasis of creation over destruction), the more I think of the Chao as a pragmatic evolution of that symbol.

I'm here. Do you care why?

Not really. I'm merely saying that you told Joe that the answer to his question could be found in that post. Which it couldn't.

Yes, it can, and I just quoted it for you. I came here because I appreciate the symbol of the Chao. Is that not an adequate answer? Why do any of us come to discussion forums? Some of us are here for self-affirmation, obviously, which I think is a fallacy (and one that I'm probably not immune to). Some of us come to them to challenge ourselves and others. Some come to make friends, some come to make enemies. Some of us come because we are aliens in human skin who think making prank chatroulette visits is a productive way to spend our time. The question of why I am here is of no more importance than the question of why anybody else is.

So, basically, you marched in and expected everyone to conform to your expectations.  On a Discordian board.

I registered and expected what I expected, not what you say that I expected.

It all began not so very long ago, in Portland. A young Alty was calling down the power of Papa LMNO and suddenly knew, as is the way of these things, that the spirit of Saturday Night had heard him!

And in his best dodgy voice Papa LMNO asked young Alty, "So how much Saturday Night you looking for kid?"

And Alty seeking the strength to stand before The Nigel and party hardy AF said, "ALL OF IT!!!!!"

And the rest is history... and a few police reports and contested insurance claims.

This is not available on the marketplace, due to multiple violations of the PATRIOT Act, the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, and glitter-related fatalities.  You have to go directly to the source.  That dick ain't gonna hack itself off.

So... having heard of this Bearforce1 here and there a couple of times before I went and did the Google tubes. As soon as I played the eponymous video one of my roommates got a rather uncomfortable look of recognition on his face upon hearing the music.

:lulz: He politely waited for me to acknowledge that he was staring at me and I explained that  "The Discordians" recommend it, full GRIN in place. He just got up calmly and walked out.

I think you guys just caused a second hand IRL flounce just by saying stuff I had to look up.
