The more I think about, the less it makes sense. Trump can just call Pompeo and have her withdrawn for any reason he wants to give. That's what Presidents do, they appoint ambassadors.

Instead the President, infamously mobbed up as he is, tells a couple of douchebags with no legal authority to remove her to "take her out". This from a man who's tag-line is "you're fired"?

It just doesn't sit right.
