On the plus side, I doubt Trump has the attention span to make it past the first paragraph of that memo.

True. On the negative side, though, is that Trump is a useful idiot to the people who are moving into position and will be taking the reigns of actual power shortly.

Trump White House weighs unprecedented plan to privatize much of the war in Afghanistan

QuoteUnder the proposal, 5,500 private contractors, primarily former Special Operations troops, would advise Afghan combat forces. The plan also includes a 90-plane private air force that would provide air support in the nearly 16-year-old war against Taliban insurgents, Erik Prince, founder of the Blackwater security firm, told USA TODAY.

QuoteThe plan remains under serious consideration within the White House despite misgivings by Trump's national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, an Army three-star general, and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis. Other White House officials, such as chief strategist Stephen Bannon, appear open to using private contractors.

QuotePrince, who has met frequently with administration officials to discuss his plan, is the brother of Trump's education secretary, Betsy Devos.

Oh, shit.

This is how a great dystopian novel starts. I would like to think that the US military would be against essentially privatising war but there's plus sides that they can't dismiss. Such as a cushy job warlording after retirement from service.

If this is idiots long term game, I'm bright green. So the question becomes how much does prince have on idiot? If blackwater or whatever it's called now put a fraction of effort into any kind of surveillance in the last 10 years they've probably got plenty of blackmail material. An affair or two at a minimum should be expected. Defense will probably involve the word "Clinton".

FBI did a dawn raid on Paul Manafort's home 2 weeks ago.  Had a search warrant too, despite Manafort "fully cooperating" with their investigation.

Meanwhile, the Donald is throwing about threats of nuclear war with North Korea.

"Trump White House weighs unprecedented plan to privatize much of the war in Afghanistan"

As per the article: "The White House is actively considering a bold plan to turn over a big chunk of the U.S. war in Afghanistan to private contractors in an effort to turn the tide in a stalemated war, according to the former head of a security firm pushing the project."

"Under the proposal, 5,500 private contractors, primarily former Special Operations troops, would advise Afghan combat forces. The plan also includes a 90-plane private air force that would provide air support in the nearly 16-year-old war against Taliban insurgents, Erik Prince, founder of the Blackwater security firm, told USA TODAY."

I would like someone to ask the White House the following question:

If the Afghan War is privatized, what is the incentive for private contractors to win and end the war?

You ask too many questions, citizen.

QuoteNearly half of Republicans (47 percent) believe that Trump won the popular vote, which is similar to this finding. Larger fractions believe that millions of illegal immigrants voted (68 percent) and that voter fraud happens somewhat or very often (73 percent). Again, this is similar to previous polls.

Moreover, 52 percent said that they would support postponing the 2020 election, and 56 percent said they would do so if both Trump and Republicans in Congress were behind this.

That seems pretty insane.  I remember Giuliani failed to garner that support after 9/11 when he called to postpone the elections for a few months.

"An Exhausted Donald Trump To Take A 3-Day Vacation From His Golfing Vacation"

As per the article: "Donald Trump said that while he's on his 17-day vacation he will be 'working hard' but instead, he has lashed out at the media, his critics and threatened to start a nuclear war with North Korea. All of that tweeting and golfing has exhausted the 71-year-old former reality show star already. It's not the end of his vacation yet, but he's already planning a three-night stay in New York upon leaving his luxury golf club in Bedminster, N.J. on Sunday, then he'll return to his vacation after he takes a vacation from his vacation – or something like that."

Who hasn't needed a vacation from their vacation? I'm sure the good people of NYC will be out in force to demonstrate their sympathy for the head of the Trump Crime Family.
