Never occurred to me a pimp woulf be a republican, but I suppose they are the ultinate capitalists when it comes down to it.

You jest but I can think of many many pro's of having a dead pimp republican as a senator over other republican senators

I agree. I'd be much less averse to voting for a dead republican than for a living one. As long as they don't go ahead and replace him with someone who's still alive he might even be better than a democrat

EDIT:

I'd put the heirarchy of leadership quality as follows:

Republicans<Libertarians<Democrats<Dead people, animals, major appliances, and the Green Party

Trump is calling the election outcome a "Big Victory".  Now I'm confused.  I mean, more than usual.

Maybe he expected to lose the senate as well?

It wasn't the "Blue Wave" I was holding out hope for months ago, but it met my lowered expectations for the night. We made some gains in the Governors, as well. I believe governors get to define the districts in their respective states, which could come in handy in 2020.

Here in TN, of course, we didn't get shit.

My math skills might not be what they once were, but are you saying the Green Party is most preferable to you?

Cain

Sessions was just fired.

Everyone is saying he resigned, and that is technically true, but Trump asked him to resign, according to his resignation letter.  So....fired.

That sounds ominous.  Should that sound ominous?

He warned on Twitter this morning that people who didn't work with him would be gone soon.

Trump is moving on Mueller.

Also this:

QuoteTrump suggested there could be room for bipartisanship, declaring that Democrats — who made opposing him a centerpiece to their campaign — would, in fact, be eager to work with him on issues like infrastructure. But the olive branch he extended was studded with thorns as he declared that Republicans would retaliate if Democrats use their control of the House to issue subpoenas to seek his tax returns and investigate his business dealings, his Cabinet's conduct and his campaign's ties to Russia.

"They can play that game, but we can play it better. Because we have a thing called the United States Senate," Trump said. "If that happens, then we're going to do the same thing and government would come to a halt and we're going to blame them."

AND THEN THIS BULLSHIT HAPPENED

QuoteIn addition to pledging to protect health care, Pelosi said Democrats would seek common ground with Republicans "when we can" and stand their ground when necessary.

She spoke with Republican Mitch McConnell, the Senate leader, on Wednesday morning about areas where the two parties could find common ground, such as infrastructure.

I am absolutely not surprised, but still pissed off.

I guess my joke about lighting the USA on fire is irrelevant, as the Grand Old Party is doing a splendid job burning the fucking country to the ground without any urging from people on a near abandoned forum.

Bets on how long Mueller lasts?

And I suppose I should add: bets on time till Civil War II? At this time it seems certain, not potential.

There's over 100 of us in this meat-suit. You'd think it runs like a ship, but it's more like a hundred and ten angry ghosts having an old-school QuakeWorld tournament, three people desperately trying to make sure the gamers don't go hungry or soil themselves, and the Facilities manager weeping in the corner as the garbage piles high.

Cain

Well, the Acting Attorney General doesn't like Mueller much, but I believe a permanent replacement has to be approved by the Senate before they can interfere.  You may recall the Senate Republicans said there "would be hell to pay" if Sessions was fired...I don't know how much faith I put in their statements myself, so I wouldn't necessarily rely on that.
