"I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it. Maybe I have a natural ability."  - Donald Trump, visiting the CDC March 6, 2020

"I didn't know people died from the flu." - Donald Trump, Atlanta, GA press conference March 6, 2020

Even without that comment from the 6th, it's like he doesn't understand how utterly fucking stupid that shit makes him sound.

Worse than that, this is the shit he thinks is smart.

Even worse than that, a scary number of people think this is smart.
Absolutely. He has two modes: brag and spite.

Donald J. Trump, the first truly American president.

I have to admit, that is surprising. And highly concerning. I wonder if Trump's actions were triggered by the same report that made the UK government suddenly realise they were being morons?

So this virus seems to be hitting denser population centers harder than in rural areas, as plagues tend to do. But also, these areas tend to be where a disproportionate chunk of the left also live.

That's another level of fucked I hadn't really considered until now.

It turns out that he fucked up each and every measure, so the universe is in fact still following the rules.

On the plus side, having the party which brought you "death panels for Grandma" now openly arguing for the positives of eldercide is darkly amusing.

There goes the GOP and their base.

Yep. The only scenario I can foresee that involves the GOP being willing to make, at least, Covid-19 related healthcare free is when their base starts to drop like flies.

QuoteTORONTO (AP) — Canada said Thursday it told the Trump administration that a proposal to put troops at the U.S.-Canada border amid the coronavirus pandemic was entirely unnecessary and would damage relations between the two longtime allies.

The Wall Street Journal, citing an unidentified U.S. official, later reported that the Trump administration had dropped its consideration of the plan.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his government had been in discussions with the White House seeking to persuade the U.S. not to do it.

"Canada and the United States have the longest un-militarized border in the world and it is very much in both of our interests for it to remain that way," Trudeau said.

Trump said the U.S. has troops at the border but then said he would need to find out about that. He then suggested he would deploy troops along the Canadian border to match what is being done at the Mexican border.

"I guess it's equal justice to a certain extent," Trump said. "We have a lot of things coming in from Canada, we have trade, some illegal trade, that we don't like."

In these dark and trying times, it's important to remember that Trump is still senselessly evil about other things, too.

QuoteThe U.S. Interior Department is rescinding the reservation status of a Native American tribe whose plan to build a casino on its Massachusetts land was attacked by President Donald Trump last year.

The planned gaming operation would have competed for business with nearby Rhode Island casinos with strong ties to Trump, who once owned, then bankrupted, casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The federal Bureau of Indian Affairs informed the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe on Friday that its 321-acre Cape Cod reservation will be "disestablished" and its land taken out of federal trust, according to Tribal Chairman Cedric Cromwell. Land in trust to the federal government effectively grants a tribe special legal status and autonomy.

Life can be seen as a game with no reset button, no extra lives, and if the power goes out there is no restarting.  If that's all you see life as you are not long for this world, and never will get it.
