Just finished a convo with a D-grade troll...or maybe a C-grade lunatic, who knows...anyway, here's the weird fuckin' conversation that followed a random PM from a 5 day-old account on this app, plus some commentary throughout.

Troll: What's up?

Me: Uh. Not much. You?

T: Alright..

Is something wrong?

M: No, just didn't expect a random private chat. So, what's up?

T: Not too much

Well

I have to make offerings and apologizes to a god I upset :^) [semi-normal BS from a pagan, so far so good]

M: Hope that goes well for ya.

T: It should. I was so relieved

I thought I was gonna die since my higher self (I think) upset a god, people on some spirit discord server said I was gonna die.. [Nice source of info there...]

I seriously thought I was gonna die. But I got in contact with him and he said I just have to apologize via a ritual like thing.

M: Glad to hear that turned out alright.

T: For sure..

I just thought I was special. You know I'm a demigod? [So very special indeed]

M: I do now.

T: Yeah. 75%. I had no idea so many pagans were connected to gods. [Even though that's kinda what pagans do. Like, almost all the time.] It makes my heritage look like a joke imo

I've always seen witches and pagans as weak. Is that true?

M: Dunno. What makes you say that they are?

T: Just sounds one step above basic stuff. Zodiacs and chakras...you know? [Finally something intelligent. I agree with him here, but there are weirder and better things to complain about]

M: So...what, they sound pretentious because of their beliefs? That what you're getting at?

T: Not really. Just sounds weak you know?

Ik I'm probably ignorant [Hallelujah, another intelligent thought!]

M: Weak how though?

T: You know how say..

Christians? Are kinda ignorant and even weak about spirituality?

M: Ignorant? Yes. Weak about spirituality? I don't even know what that means.

[20 minutes or so later]

T: Back

I just came from a very experienced server. Witches and paganism seem weak by comparison. That's all

Sorry to be arrogant. If it means anything I'm weaker than you or anyone right now [Um, creepy much?].

M: By comparison to what though?

T: Oh I dunno

Beings who at their full power could destroy the universe

Literal daughters of gods

Beings in high rank of god subordinates

Beings who can kill us if they wanted to [Wow this spag is sounding angsty]

Beings who go to the astral realm to communicate with their friends daily [I'm not sure if Eggs, Bread, Milk, Squick, or Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking fits here better :lulz:]

Etc etc.

Feel free to think I'm lying.

M: I'll do that.

T: Feel free :^) But if I were you I would at least experiment or be curious...test to see if they're right and potentially become WAY stronger

But ok

You can just deal with nature or whatever. I mean...I Cant do anything yet. But can you?

M: Power isn't a concern to me. I don't even work with nature like the average witch does. Frankly, I think I can do plenty. You have fun with yourself, friend.

T: Aight

Aaaaand scene. Wow that was weird in my inexperienced eyes. Well that was a waste of time and brain cells...

Didn't seem all that trolly to me. Just arrogant and dumb.

Yeah that came off as garden variety pagan crazy. Incidentally I ALSO have a page for that lol https://imgur.com/a/niItkdv

who successfully presented themselves as "powerful" and "in the know"

and the audience to this performance wants to validate their ticket purchase

by convincing others that the ticket was a great buy

Were I to Quantum Leap into your shoes, I think my game would be

to convince them that these other powerful beings are dicking around at the threshhold to the real source of power

Years and years and years ago, I met this chaos mage. And years later, I met him again.

I asked what he had been up to, and he indicated that all the chaos magic he did now seemed like a bunch of childish games compared to what he was on now.

What are you doing now, I asked?

Taoist Chaos Magic, he basically said

How does that work, I asked?

You don't
do
anything
he said, sagely

His whole "superiority complex + A God Am I + power trip" thing kinda made him a tinge more outlandish to me than the average pagan nut. Maybe I just hang around some pretty mellow pagans. At least they don't claim to have their family taken over because someone else prays to their sky daddy.  :lulz:
That page is a perfect way to respond to someone of his ilk the next time this happens. Thanks for that.

Damn you and your uncanny ability to put things into words in poetic and interesting ways  :argh!: But yeah, that's probably how it went down. Some power fantasy got singed into the guy's brain and it's been an unsettling power hunger ever since...somehow I get the feeling The Great Old Ones are involved here...

I might just use that against the next "demigod" I happen to talk to  :lulz:

Somehow forgot to mention this like a week ago when I made it, but I made a nice little post in the app as an overview of Eris, both in terms of mythological significance, and as the original Discordian figurehead. It got featured for a bit, so that was neat. Whee.

I recently converted back to Christianity (after about 30 years of blasphemy, idolatry, and outright being more of a fuckstick than I needed to be), but good luck. I much prefer Discordian weirdness to the other varieties.

that's interesting and I would like to hear more about that, maybe in another thread

I've been ex-christian for 20+ years
In the last few years, I've found a key that helps me read christian text in a different light, and I'm enjoying reexamining stuff. Not converting back to Christiantiy or anything, but reading it with a new set of eyes. I'm curious what made you turn over the new leaf.
