Yeah, the mods are all home. I have a friend in Ireland who manages a team of FB mods. It sounds like pretty soul-crushing work, the dude is ragged. He's seen some shit.

Facbook dublin? I had a friend quit there after the NZ mosque shooting. Not so much because people kept reuploading the shooting vid, which is pretty bad in and of itself, it was the comments
"Muslims finally getting a taste of their own medicine" etc.
He said there was childporn uploaded almost daily as well and they had a special councillor just for the people who ended up seeing that

yep, dublin. My friend said his job is hyper-stressful and "insomnia-inducing"

They do run the mods ragged. Toilet breaks are timed, you have to make a decision on whether something should stay up within x number of seconds of being flagged, zero hour contracts or as close to as possible...stupid shit like that. And most notably, no real support for the PTSD they're willingly inflicting on their workforce. Like, I've had to sit through hundreds of hours worth of terrorist material, including shootings, bombs, executions...PTSD by proxy is very real. But I've chosen, willingly, to investigate this kind of thing and I know what I'm expecting, going in. My chances of seeing child pornography while doing this, for example, are virtually nil.

And then they ban people for making fun of Nazis?

Or maybe that's just the people who could stay in the job.  If you know what I mean.

The post that got me banned was the Osama Bin Ladin "This is why I bomb people" meme, posted in response to Pango's last pun.

So I am glad to hear that with pedos uploading porn and actual Nazis running around, this is what they choose to police.

Fuck those guys.  Right in their ear holes.

I dont think so. Though I wouldnt put it past them.
What I think is happening is, all past ban history shows for moderators on facebook, so if they see a long list they have an inherent bias towards you and are more likely to keep banning you.

I don't blame you. I've got a certain sense of vengeance myself. I don't even dress it up as justice.
What is called justice is often just revenge that has been outsourced to a disinterested third party.

The only thing I've found that was funny about it was the perspective that considering the impending apocalypse technically he got out of the game at just the right time.

It's not very funny, but I like to think he's counting his chips now and snickering at the suckers still at the table. It's something anyway.

Glad to hear it. Hopefully you and yours won't have to deal with the fucker.

One of the worst things about it, extraordinary contagion aside, is that it's so damn chaotic about presentation and progression of symptoms. It's maddening to question every little goddamn sniffle, sore throat, or temp as possible evidence that you've been contagious for a while now. I hate that you can only really know post facto whether or not your quarantine was effective. This and the mutation factor, there are at least two identified strains now, are why I think this is going to wind up endemic to humans. It's not something that 1 vaccine can fix.

In other news I intended to do a bunch of rabble rousing and calls for community action in my ample free time and start networking as well as I can within my local community. There's nothing else that's going to be of real help to real people in the new state of play the game is in, but it's obviously not a "game" being played for fun. I'm in this for real stakes now. If I manage to convince even one person to make themselves helpful where they otherwise would not, for any reason, I have succeeded. I have won. It's a very low bar, but I'm the kind of guy that likes to "win more" once I get going.

Here's something I haven't seen much discussed yet - the people who have already had the virus--they are now immune, right? Are they also not contageous?

Nobody I'm aware of knows for sure yet.
