"3-year-old shoots 2 people in Indiana, leading to arrest of man wanted for murder"

I wonder if the kid will collect a reward for his/her actions leading up to the arrest of the wanted man.

As per the article:

"A shooting in Indiana that injured two people after a three-year-old accessed a gun led to the arrest of a man wanted for murder in Illinois, authorities said.

Trayshaun Smith, 23, was arrested on Thursday after he visited a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to Lt. Justin Hartman of the Lafayette Police Department.

Investigators eventually determined that the shooting that sent Smith and another victim to the hospital occurred when a three-year-old was able to access a gun and fire a single round."

That would be incredibly stupid, even by American standards.

Of course, you intended the remark tongue-in-cheek; but, Brother Mythos, in order to be funny, an attempted witticism must have at least some kernel of truth or bearing on reality--and you have failed in that respect.

When one considers that the other victim in this shooting was the child's mother, one wonders what kind of person would consider this a joking matter...

Brother Mythos

While discussing this article with Mrs. Mythos over brunch, it occurred to us that the child may have shot the wanted man with his own gun.

If that turns out to be the case, it would be both ironic, and karmic. So, we may have a twofer!

So, we may have a twofer!

You're sick, man.

I enjoy a little schadenfreude as much as the next chap, but this is an unfortunate example of gun violence, with a child whose life may have been permanently stained through no fault of their own, and you're cracking weak jokes and patting yourself on the back for it.

Brother Mythos

There's no definitive report, to date, stating who owned the gun used by the little boy to shoot his mother, and her friendly murder suspect. And so, a twofer for irony, and karma, because a friendly murder suspect was shot with his own gun, cannot be confirmed at this time. Still, it is ironic, and karmic, that a murder suspect was finally arrested because of the actions of a young child, and an unsafely handled, or stored firearm.
