Since then its only gotten meaner and better at this game.
Yes, Uncle Sugar has a long recorded history of interfering in other governments' governing.

Still, my recent thinking about "The Deep State Oligarchy Conspiracy" is about how Uncle Sugar got this way. Most members of the Republicult™, and many members of the general public, do not understand, or do not really care about the disproportionate influence our mostly shadowy oligarchy has on our country, and our lives. And so, it amuses me to label this particular influence a conspiracy. But, if you disagree with me about this, I'm fine with it. After all, I am easily amused.

Quote from: Faust on April 21, 2026, 07:33:31 PMBut while we are on conspiracy
Its not just limited to the US, the EU do it to, in Africa. Beloved Muammar was assassinated under the direction of Clinton and Nicolas Sarkozy to cover up his dirty work, which he eventually got prosecuted for.
It never occurred to me to use the words "beloved" and "Muammar" in the same sentence. Still, Gaddafi was killed in 2011, and my time in Libya was back in 1979. But, no doubt a lot had changed in those three decades.

While I was there, for a couple of weeks in the spring of 1979, the Three Mile Island accident occurred. But, I didn't find out about it until a week later, when I was handed a newspaper on my flight out of the country. But, without being too long winded about it, I did not perceive Libya as being anyone's "happy place." The US embassy was in Tripoli at that time. And, that was the old embassy that was attacked later that same year. Now, back then, Tripoli was only about 5% the size it is today. However, to me, the most surprising thing about it was that there were no young men on the streets. When I asked about that, if I received an answer at all, it was a mumble about the young men being "in the army." So, in reality, Tripoli was close to being a ghost town. And, I remember that Gaddafi had plastered his image on huge billboards on the east and west sides of the town. Now, if you picture Douglas MacArthur with more medals, but without the corncob pipe, it will give you a pretty good idea about how Muammar presented himself to his loving public. I would have liked to have taken a photo of one of those billboards. But, I had been warned ahead of time, if I tried to take a camera into Libya, it would have been confiscated at the airport upon arrival.

Last, the way I remember it, Gaddafi was shot by a Libyan national immediately after his capture. And, at the time, it was never even hinted that the US, or France for that matter, were behind the murder. And again, the way I remember it, the "international community" was outraged, and wanted the Libyan national to be charged with murder. But, of course, the international community had no legal standing in the matter. So, I'm not claiming that Clinton and Sarkosy were not somehow behind Gaddafi's murder. It's just that this conspiracy is completely new to me.

Perhaps its just a conspiracy theory in the US so, to every nation outside that has been on the other end of it, its painfully transparent.

I'm sure Libya wasnt a pleasant place to be, and he was a dictator, but the country had universities and international airport, better rights for women then they have now and good access to medical care. I wont gloss over the atrocities, the guy treated the darker skinned africans like slaves, eliminated his competition.

But none of those things are the reason he is dead, it was for championing a single currency for Africa.

I've given some thought to your point of view, and come to realize that my "The Deep State Oligarchy Conspiracy" isn't as amusing as I had originally thought.

I was unaware Gaddaif, or anyone else, had attempted to organize the creation of a new, single African currency. Nor did I know this idea was opposed by any Western governments. However, I was well aware that back in 1979, no US bank would exchange Libyan dinar for American dollars. And, I don't believe the US was alone in that regard. So, I can understand why Gaddaif would have been keenly interested in establishing an African currency similar to the Euro.

Here was his outline, yeah he wanted an African union to rival the EU model, which would have included currency and nationalisation of strategic mineral resources, oil, cobalat, uranium and gold, he also wanted food strategy and pooling to make Africa food secure.

It was ambitious and I still hope to see it one day.

Now imagine European leaders thought process to what this competitor would mean or for the US who buys on the cheap from there.

If similar was proposed for the middle east imagine what that would represent.

Suddenly the destabilising games make sense

Those were some lofty objectives. At this point in time, are there any African governments showing any interest in implementing any of them?

Now, this next question is off-topic. And, I'm pretty sure I already know the answer. But, I have to ask: How is the general public in the UK reacting to our POSOTUS threatening your country's sovereignty over the Falkland Islands?

(Mrs. Mythos talks to our niece, who lives in Hull, several times a week. But, we haven't yet heard her take on this subject.)

Faust

No african nations talking about it any more, and most are in a considerably worse position then they were. Its further away then it ever was now.
As was intended. The games there are still playing out, in Nigeria france is selling weapons to both sides of the conflict, including a group that target Christans which shows their Order of priorities:
Its fine to sell to groups killing Christans, as long as everyone involved is black.
