"US Muslims Who Voted For Trump Now Upset With His Pro-Israel Cabinet"

"We are very disappointed. It seems like this administration has been packed entirely with neoconservatives and extremely pro-Israel, pro-war people."

I'm really tempted to make more fun of them for the choice they made. But, they were far from being the only group who made that exact same choice, and have already come to regret it.

The Resistance 2.0 is going to have to make contact with, and enlist these people in our cause. And, I don't foresee it being very long before they're ready to disavow the "Dark Side." My hope is that the Democratic Party doesn't simply use them, and then abandon them again.

Of course it will, and it will do the same to you.  If you think the Democrats are a resistance you aren't at all serious about resisting.

I agree with you, but I gotta ask:  Who do you see as the most effective kernel of resistance?

mutual aid, localism, taking care of your neighbors and building in person connections.  That absolutely can include local politicians, but anyone above a municipal or county level is too big to be worth considering.

At Least One Congressman in the Resistance 2.0 has a sense of humor:

"FEMA Chief Asked At Hearing Do You 'Control The Weather' Or 'Send Hurricanes' To Trump Areas"

As per this article:

"Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) asked FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell if she or her agency "controls the weather" or "sends hurricanes" to areas based on political considerations at a hearing this week.

Fired FEMA employee Marn'i Washington was dismissed for telling workers in Florida to skip Trump houses during the Hurricane Milton recovery effort — but Washington says she was following orders, and that her instruction was a temporary "avoidance and de-escalation" measure. During Hurricane Helen, relief work was delayed because of an "armed militia" hunting FEMA workers.

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee held a hearing this week on FEMA's response to hurricanes that focused mainly on the incident.

But when Rep. Krishnamoorthi's turn to question Administrator Criswell came around, he used part of his time to mock conspiracy theories that were spread by Republicans, including about "controlling the weather":

Has the term "resistance" undergone this much semantic drift?  Not that surviving isn't a reasonable goal to have, mais ce n'est pas la résistance.

If your resistance doesn't include molotov cocktails, industrial sabotage, and the occasional drive-by egging, I think you're Doing it Wrong.

It's been eight years since Trump was elected the first time, and nothing anyone said or did in that interval stopped him from getting a second turn.  But I guess you all just weren't pointing out the issues with his presidency hard enough.  So let's all band together and talk about everything Trump is doing wrong, and how the people who voted for him were mistaken.  That'll stop him.

That's not resistance.  That's cowering.

But I have to ask:  What work to help will do any good when they scoop you up coming out of the grocery store?

The Resistance 2.0 is real, and some of it is coming from where it's least expected:

"Murkowski hints she'll be a leader in the 'resist Trump' movement"

As per this article:

"Sen. Lisa Murkowski was one of four Republicans who were hard no's on the appointment of Rep. Matt Gaetz as Attorney General. She didn't need an FBI report on him; she just said he was not a "serious candidate."

But in a walk-and-talk interview with a reporter, she has now indicated that she won't vote to confirm any of Trump's nominations unless they all get a thorough background check by the FBI."

Here's the link to this article:      Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski Will Help the Resistance 2.0

Senator Murkowski won her seat in 2010 as a write-in candidate. And, that, boys and girls, is no easy feat. So, TSF can do minimum damage to her political career.

I don't quite know what to make of what's going on with the news coverage of this murder. I mean, it's not like murder is a rarity in this country. Yet, this particular murder has dominated the news cycle for several days, and it's almost completely obscured what's happening right now in South Korea and Syria.

I realize this is an easy story for the MSM to cover in a huge media center like NYC. But, I do not sense that the general public is really all that interested in it. It has occurred to me, however, that some media moguls, billionaires, and oligarchs could find this particular murder to be quite upsetting.

I'm anxiously awaiting for copycats. I am not a member of the Great American Empire™ but I hope the sentiment bleeds over to the rest of the Americas. Maybe someone with a kind heart will take out some big landowners. Either way, this is not just a bipartisan phenomenon in the US. The whole world is watching.

I'm not naive enough to think The Current Thing© will spark a full-on global revolution, but the conversation has shifted and it gives me hope.
