Resistance 2.0: Just like Resistance 1.0

Remember 2017-2021?  Remember all the bad shit that happened, natural disasters and the boat getting stuck excluded (as those were not forced errors, at least not completely.).

Remember when they were separating families?  Boy, it's a good thing resistance 1.0 stopped that, right?

Oh, wait.  They did nothing of the kind.  ONE (1) man tried to stop it by force, and he was shot dead in Tucson.  While making an armed attack on a concentration camp for kiddies isn't strictly necessary for a resistance, there wasn't really anything else that happened on every level.

Now I'm hearing that Resistance 2.0 is saying that people should be building mutual support networks and growing food, etc.  That's not a stupid thing to do, but it's not "resistance". It is "hunkering down and hoping that this thing passes over you."

There is no resistance 2.0 for the same reason there wasn't a resistance 1.0.  There is a lot of shit talking on the internet, but that isn't resistance, that's just normal everyday criticism of bullshit that, in the end, accomplishes nothing.

What people don't understand is that the rules have changed.  The oligarchs that have been put into power don't care about your protests, your shit-talking, or anything else of that nature.  They are in office to make bank at your expense, and since Trump can't *legally* get reelected, he doesn't even care what his own voters think anymore.

Protest, and you become "the enemy within," upon whom Trump has promised to deploy the military.  Sounds glorious, but The White Rose, a REAL resistance movement, was utterly crushed the very first time that happened, back in 1930s Crazytown.  They became martyrs, but not until the problem was over.

Talkin shit on the internet is as useful as it has ever been.  Just don't do it on X.

Right now, there are only 2 methods of resistance are:

1.  Band up, crowd fund, and bring court cases against gerrymandering or voter suppression actions.  This takes money.  A LOT of money.  And don't forget that the majority of the Supreme Court are asshole dominionists that make this administration look like normality.

2.  Violence.  You and I both know how this ends.

So yeah, go ahead and jabber about Resistance 2.0.  There's only one person I know that is actually doing The Work, and she's going to get fuck all for help from anyone outside of her immediate environment.

But remember that talking is all people are going to do.  Enjoy the dopamine rush, just don't confuse it for actually altering the situation.

Me, I plan to mock the far right when their grocery bill goes up 22% (NOT including the effect of deporting 80% of our labor force in the food production sector).  I plan to mercilessly mock the far left for refusing to hold their noses and vote Harris because she wasn't perfect in every way.  She counseled "restraint" with Gaza, and Marco Rubio is on record as saying Hamas has to be eliminated by any means necessary, collateral damage be damned.

No matter what your political affiliations are, if you did not vote Harris for the simple reason of stopping Trump, I shit on you from a great height.  YOU did this.  I am not interested in your excuses, but please speak up, because I was into the Thai food last night and I need targeting data for the inevitable, horrible results.

Now, fuck off and enjoy the results of your moral purity.

Damn it to hell Howl don't you ever get tired of being right!?
Just a quick quote from the never published introduction to Animal Farm [pub. 1945]
"If liberty means anything at all it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear."
Of course he was talking about the freedom of the press which, considering the shit we are all currently in, is somewhat ironic.

Our press right now is pathetic.  Morning Joe Scarborough and wossname, his sidekick, went to Mar A Lago to kiss the ring and apologize for saying mean things about Trump.

MSNBC is hemorraging money again and is up for sale again.

Fox?   :lulz:

Right now I can trust NPR, I can kinda trust the Guardian (sorta) and that's about it.

Yeah well didn't he who shall not be named say he was going to torpedo NPR? And I can't agree about the Guardian - though I believe the US version is slightly different than ours. I cancelled my subscription when they helped to take down Corbyn, cheered on by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Board of Deputies of British Jews, and that little charmer Mike Pompeo who promised US Jewish leaders that Corbyn would be stopped. So my list of trustworthy sources is virtually non-existant.
Hey, d'ya want a laugh? Guess who started to come off anti-depressants after 50 glorious years on the day of the Presidential debate? My partner says she can tell I'm off them because I am getting increasingly snippy. I honestly can't think why . . .

Yes.

You have not seen enough of the pandering fools that comprise American media.  I just watched Joe Scarborough and his sidekick wossname crawl into Mar A Lago to kiss Trump's spotty arse.

Because we've all heard this joke before?  Or at least our grandparents did.
